Still, where's the precedent for these numbers, $500k to $1M? I was just playing when I asked for a $1M, but if we playing Optimus Prime, we might as well be as brazen as he is 🤷🏾♂️

Surely you would agree a one-time, early-season, non-ESPN sponsored game is not the same precedent as the Celebration Bowl. Who says it has to be non-ESPN sponsored? Who says another network could not pick it up? Who says it couldn't replace the MEAC/SWAC challenge? ...but JSU has to win first. FAMU will knock the novelty off of Deion unless he wins. If he's starts the season 0-3 then ...

I hope not. I want us to see our place in FCS football in the next 2 to 3 years

By maintaining a winning program we most definitely do both, but it would have to make sense for us (e.g. location, revenue, FCS ranking).

My take is that with KSU and N. Alabama potentially moving to the ASUN starting in'22, We (A&T) should leverage having 4-5 OOC games a year. Since doing the traditional HBCU Classic circuit doesn't work with our more regional philosophy on scheduling, I wouldn't be opposed to having a yearly homegrown classic game in Charlotte; All the pomp and circumstance of the Major Classics with a rotating opponent a la FAMUs classic games in Tampa and the Orange blossom Classic. This could be that "second GHOE" that the Celebration Bowl was providing for the fanbase.

I wish you guys well with your transition to the Big South. In my opinion our moved to the OVC has reaped little benefit football wise. The gleam and glitter of playing in a pro stadium wore off years ago. Most of our fan base particular the old, old heads have little interest in playing pwc's. Although during my day, late 70's early 80's, we played 2 to 3, some times 4, each year. For you band heads, it's terrible. I can count on one hand the number of times we had another band in the conference to visit us. Jacksonville State. And that was only when we played at Nissan Stadium. Due to your success you may not have difficulty generating interest. Aggie pride appears to be as strong as ever! Rumor had it that we were going to join you in the newly formed ASUN Conference but things fell apart. With Eastern Kentucky and Jaxville State leaving our conference will take a hit as far as strength in concerned.

I remember us having a pretty healthy rivalry with you in both football and basketball that continued into the mid-80s, mainly fueled by Ed Martin and Don Corbett.
I'd love to be in the same conference with you. Too bad that it may not happen...at least right now, anyway.

There are 4 Tennessee schools in the conference. Our only true HBCU rivals are Jackson State and FAMU. To a lessor degree Southern and Grambling. The latter we haven't played in years. We have an agreement with the OVC to play one less conference game in favor of playing one of our historical rivals. However, we haven't taken advantage of it. Contrary to popular belief we are not bound by the TN Board of Regent, or any other body to remain in the OVC. The conference is strong in basketball. But what does it matter when you are finishing near the bottom each year.

But what does it matter when you are finishing near the bottom each year. Well, if Jacksonville State and Eastern Kentucky are leaving this Summer and are not paying the $750,000 exit fee, leaving the OVC won't be so much an issue. I've been hearing that you all and SC State could make a move to the SWAC but I just took those as fleeting rumors. But with this news about the A-Sun "raid" of the OVC, could the argument be made that Tennessee State locking horns with the Bama HBCUs, FAMU, and Jackson State yearly in the SWAC East help offset concerns about travel cost?
