Pringle and Branch are 300 pounders...if that is what you are looking for...anyone at practice friday or saturday ?
We run a 43-Under, which shares similar principles to a 34 D. With Pringle and Branch as the "space-eaters" on the DL, it's possible to run a defensive set where McDaniel or Cox are playing with their hand out the dirt. those guys are going to be playing the 1 or 2 tech DT in the 43 setups we already run, freeing up our LBS to slash into gaps and blow up running plays.
I agree but the only problem I see is the ability of the 2 down linemen or any down linemen having to learn playing standing up and especially having to learn how to play in space . Because a lot of actions in the 3-4 are space orientated actions .
So we might have the size to successfully run 3-man fronts at times.
I think so the quickness should work for a while to give some players a rest period. But not as your base. Kind of like a change of pace look . Anything is possible as long as the players buy into it .
