I have seen on a few comments on other boards that suggest we don’t travel. I disagree but I am also biased. From my perspective we have always traveled well especially to Hampton, NSU, Howard, Morgan, and classics.
Do you agree?

"Well" is relative. We don't travel like some SWAC schools, but you can bet there is a vocal contingent of Aggie fans at EVERY away game. That's better than most. We are no where near fans like North Dakota State fans who routinely will have large numbers of fans who will hop on planes to away games. My guess is we travel 500-2000 fans to any regular season away game. We probably had 20,000 at the last Celebration Bowl.

(Kinda rambling here)Regionally, I feel as if we do really good. The SWAC travels well when there is going to be a good band battle...I recently just learned about the ATL classic from YouTube videos. During my time at NCAT, I never even knew that it existed(which I find to be crazy). I wonder what could be done to increase our home attendance. I also find our games kinda dry and boring...
Personal Opinion: The MEAC would have been much stronger in terms of attendance if we invested in our marching bands. You can use the SWAC as a case study.

I would not take what you read from other boards like MFZ and Onnidan seriously right now. It is a lot posters in their feelings with hate towards us right now for our move to the Big South. However, to answer your question, we travel very well to be in a conference that is so spread out. Even when in our dark times before Broadway, we traveled well to away games, that is a sign of a strong alumni base.

schools in the swac travel well because their schools are located in the "deep south" where the weather is warm. mind you, we out drew both grambling and alcorn at the cb...

I've spoken with a few about us having a DJ in addition to the announcer and to do some things during timeouts. Hate to say it but our Little Sibling in Durham beats us (hands down) on this.

We don’t need a DJ as much if we had a band staff that learned to entertain more in the stands.

Between SC-MD yes (As it wouldn’t be far fetched for us to outnumber the fans of the host school outside of SC State) outside of that we do OK.
Atlanta area initially was a no (See ATL classic and initial Celebration bowl in 15) but as we’ve established a greater presence down there we’ve definitely turned that around.

....All I know is we gave Duke the biggest home crowd they've had in years when we played them in 2019. Check their attendances at Wallace-Wade...the last time they had a crowd as big was when they played UNC a few years back. If I remember correctly, I think we broke Charlotte's home attendance record for a game when we played them back in 2017. If a game is within decent reach, Aggie Nation shows up.

Though I would still want a DJ, I agree that our band could do better...starting with moving to the endzone so we all can see and hear them. Good thing is that they planned to move to the endzone, related to COVID, but I don't know if it was to be permanent.

If a game is within decent reach, Aggie Nation shows up. If that's the case, we'll break some attendance records for our opponents in the Fall because nearly every game is "within decent reach".

With the move to the Big South and them going to see fewer bands (Hampton, NCCU and a CIAA school at most) they might as well. From a bandhead perspective, I'd hate it because post-game, security is not gonna let folks onto the field for the 5th quarter since more than likely, the visiting band will be back in the former section near the Bryant center (See. SC State Setup)
