How hard is it to put a phone on a tripod and Live stream the thing at the very least. I know that ghetto, but that's the point. Any clown with the iPhone can get you at least that.
Back on topic. Great news about how stacked we are. I'm just waiting on spectator info or will I be watching from my couch.

Which is, streaming a game is easy and cheap. Streaming a FREE game is waaaay easier and cost almost nothing. They aint doing neither, which just screams "I dont care" or "I'm an idiot". Which one is it?

Which one is it? really, monster? who's gonna "professionally" call the game and provide analysis of the game? who's gonna provide "replays"? who's gonna perform the camera work? who's gonna provide all of the work "for free"? especially given the current pandemic. and please don't tell me "students" could do it because i've seen students do sports broadcasting and usually its a "disaster", a straight up "train wreck"...

I agree with Monster this ain't 1921. Show the d@## games! Who says it has to be a "professionally called" game. I remember one school we played had one camera at top of the bleachers that panned back and forth, no zoom, no replays, no color analyst. Probably was a student production. I'll take that! I would have loved to have seen B. Harris performance at SCSU last weekend. I bet our broadcast team will be there, sync a video feed to that. What's the problem now, the cost of the electricity?

umes did (and "may" still do) precisely what you're suggesting scsu do and it was a "train wreck", virtually "useless". the video quality was poor, the video angles did not capture all of the action, and there was no commentary.
if you're gonna stream sports video in the name of your school, then stream it "professionally" because the quality of your broadcast is a direct reflection on your "university". that's why you should want it "professionally" done...

not to mention, you could not see the "scoreboard", nor the shot clock. so you couldn't tell what the score was or how much time was on the clock. a game is virtually meaningless if you don't know what the score is and how much time is on the clock. it was a total "embarrassment", i'm sure umes' potential recruits and parents were very impressed by that...

I will agree to disagree. I think it looks worst for D1 school not to have a broadcast stream of their premier revenue sports, given the technology available. C'mon, Del State does it with Youtube. They are missing an opportunity to reach their fan base during this stay at home pandemic.

My daughters high school games were filmed and then post to huddle. My daughter is at a JUCO for basketball and they plan to stream each game but probably will not have anyone calling the game. As a parent / fan does anyone think I would rather not see my daughter play because there is no one calling the game or its a student calling the game ? Come on bro that got the be craziest statement of 2021 so far a C rate video is better than listening to the radio better yet you can do both........ I get it its not anywhere close to D1 standard but if they had a live stream sound or no sound I would been watching just like every Aggie b-ball fan. Think about how this projects for SC States athletes parents that cant attend in person. In 2021 they cant even see their child play through streamed content...Come on bru!!!!

sometimes you can do more "harm" to the university than good if you don't do things the right way. that's like putting up a "crappy" website just to have a website rather than wait until you can put it up the right way.
and think about all of the "oomplaints" the administration must entertain from viewers who are displeased with the poor quality of the video production. is it really worth that? is it really worth the "embarrassment"? just throw up any ole video so the diehards can see something? but at the same time, stain the image of the university...

I totally agree. After all, we are technical School and what image would that present to students who wish to attend A&T and companies who are thinking about hiring our graduates. Therefore, I believe everything done in the name of the university, including live streaming, should be professionally done. We are the number one HBCU in the nation and we should act like we are number one...

i’ll never forget how “embarrassed” i was when a&t’s website used to look like an elementary school’s website. it was so bad that we had to send our very own a&t alums to nccu’s website to purchase aggie/eagle tickets and to get aggie/eagle hotel info. totally “embarrassing”, especially given that we’re an engineeering/technology school.
and i’m sure that horrible website was “discouraging” to prospective students, especially prospective students who wanted to major in technology/engineering.
man, there’s an ole saying, that if you can’t do things the right way, then don’t do it at all. i “used to” feel that way about our website but dr. martin did a very good job to fix that problem when he took over...

This is about SCSU having NO video at all.

If yall think its hard to stream a game with decent audio and video then y'all some old farts for real. Yall are Teddy Riley and Babyface on the Verzuz. LOL! Damn, I'm old, but I aint THAT old. AGAIN, all jokes aside.....my point is it's not hard. SCSU or any university could pull this off with 2 cameras and a youtube account. That's exactly what Del State does. Shoot, give Thrilla and I some power outlets and we could pull it off with 2 Phones and some old school bluetooth headsets. Yall trippin with this one. Not having a video feed for football is some inexcusable stuff. Bad production or not. Just let it sit and you can hear the stadium announcer with an occasional shot of the scoreboard is better than nothing.

We may have to take our own video crew on the road for MEAC games The announcers are supposed to be there. Matter of fact we can charge them for streaming their home game. LOL
