Yes. But, this is about the players (student-athletes) and their health. By most accounts, they want to play this spring (winter) even if it is in an empty stadium.

I still don't understand the anti-football bias. The Basketball team has already played 12 games in empty arenas. The track team is practicing right now for their season. They aren't a revenue sport and even when fans are allowed the stands aren't packed. They will be running around the same field that the football team would be playing on. There will be officials and staff present. What's the difference?
Let these kids play.

Somebody needs to explain to me how we can operate our athletic department without any ticket revenue.
How long can that continue?

I don't know what the magic number is but it surely is not the 7% capacity limit that is in place right now in North Carolina for outdoor venues that seat 10,000+. If nothing changes between now and February 27, Aggie Truist Stadium will be capped at 1,505 fans. What are the major changes under Executive Order 169? Very large outdoor facilities with a capacity of more than 10,000 guests may reopen at 7% of the facility’s total seating capacity, if they meet certain requirements. How did they get 7 percent...such a random number. I expect they calculated the "typical" width between seats and used 6 ft distancing to come up with the number. Just a guess.

It can't last forever, but until the Athletic Department rings the alarm I don't see the issue. That March Madness money is going to come in, that's why basketball is still being played. Hilton said at the beginning of the Pandemic that we don't make a huge amount of money off of ticket sales. Athletic fees have already been collected from the students. Obviously, it's better to have paying fans than not, but our overhead isn't Power 5 overhead.

Some schools operate their whole season with 1505 fans per game. Let's not be so naive as to think we can't put on a game that way. Ticket sales are only about 10-15% of the budget. Kids want to play. Also, it's only 2 games.

Hopefully, we'll host three games. Did they say where the Championship game will be held?

Hopefully, we'll host three games. Did they say where the Championship game will be held? The Northern and Southern Division teams with the best records will square off for the MEAC championship on the campus of the team with the best conference record on April 17 Now, if the records are the same, I don’t know what the tie breaker is?? They’ve used the Sagarin Ratings in the past to determine the CB participant.

Well, since yall put it that way I guess money aint a thang. If we dont play the kids are still using the stadium to practice and they are on campus and on scholarship anyway. Might as well put on some exhibitions for us die-hards and cure their boredom. Playing doesn't change the Fall season, so whatever I guess.
I'd just rather everyone get right for the Fall. Convince Martin to come back and dominate the Big South and ride off into the NFL that way, that would be my goal.

Losing two March Madness seasons in-a-row will be devastating for HBCUs and PWIs alike.

Too much money to not get it in.
