Lol I felt the same way two games ago, but realization has kicked in. We performed well in conference last season. That was Jones interview. He became full time HC over the summer after dealing with an unmentioned previous HC conflict during a pandemic with multple transfers while trying to find an assistant coach and build the staff that he needs. He's also playing random fill in games with limited practice. His resume experience isn't the best. He was thrown to the wolves this season. We're watching a very talented team go through multiple growing pains. I've learned to just give it sometime. We're also short two players that will contribute immediately. At this point I hope Jones takes this as a true learning experience and gets things figured out before conference play. During the next off-season recruit and surround himself with some seasoned/experienced coaches and proceed forward. Even Coach Broadway struggled through his first year with the Aggie faithful jumping all over his decisions. Give it some time. I'd be more critical of the WBB coach this season than Jones. we arent short two players... and Aggie faithful just want the team to look like a Div1 basketball team...this team plays AAU basketball. He isnt going to fire his coaching staff You're correct, my bad on the 2 players statement. Only missing 1, Keep me in check lol. #respect Believe me, I want us to look better as well. However the between game practice time just isn't available this season. If he doesn't adjust his coaching staff to better fit and help him improve going forward then that speaks volumes on where our program is heading.

Basically. Why these folks think the MEAC is a strong mid major conference id beyond me

Looks like another ESPN+ game. I'm surprised we haven't played VCU before. I definitely took TWO trips to VCU back when Willie Taylor and Jeff Capel were there against Curtis Hunter. Eaves also played them as well. I wonder why they don’t show up on the VCU history link for our game. Did we win?

It is so disappointing to see how poorly this team is playing. In my opinion they are rudderlist. The coach need to adapt the game plan to his talent. The point guard is a one trick pony.He is not an offensive threat. The only consistent shooter and the player with the most up size is Morrice. He needs to play 25-30 mins. minimum. His low post game needs work but that what coaching is suppose to help. He has the potential to be a double double player in the MEAC.

I will watch the 2nd half on replay, but i did note Harry got a few minutes more tonight. He certainly rushed his attempts in the first half and I think that is down to a lack of confidence. It’s not just him as was mentioned Fred and Duling combined for 46min and 1pt. Hope the team can get in the gym and work on offensive moves that suit this roster.

Just watched it and he was on for 5min with 1/2 from field, 3 rebounds and 2 fouls. Why will no one pass to the post early in a set? Think he deserved a few more minutes.

Is the goal to win 9 games or the conference? Yesterday the goal was to win the conf, now the goal is to win 9 games 🧐 This is a screwed up season so I think our goal is just to give the players some playing time and just survive until the pandemic os over. We'll look back on this season years from now and say..."Remember that season we tried to play in the middle of a pandemic" rather than..."Boy 2020 was a rotten season for men's basketball." I know us Aggies want to see our team return to its winning ways but this year we'll have to just watch as they try to survive.

A&T Men's Basketball right now be like.... Man, you guys are expecting Kwe to be LeBron James when he returns. He may give this team a boost but he ain't turning guys that can't hit short jumpers or layups into superstars. Let's not put that pressure on just one player.

I dont agree...all schools are playing under the same conditions and their goal is to win. norfolk is trying to win a title, NCCU is trying to win, Gonzaga is trying to win

I get the feeling as the season goes on he'll end up being the centerpiece. I can't put my finger on why I feel this way but I do.

This is a Rotten season up to this point , but Coach Jones & staff still can turn this thing around if and when he decides to take command of his team and coach . He has made it clear that certain players (Jones's) will continue to start even with minimal to no production and that his guards will continue to play one on 5 and shoot bricks first and pass second.I always felt that Coach Jones was more of a multi-dimensional coach hopefully he will get it right . Also it is evident that we do not have a competent coach for the Bigs this is something that is needed going forward . We have a 7' player 6'11" and a number of 6'9" players (correct me if I'm mistaken) why are they regulated to bench duty most of the time ? Jones needs to put them Big Bodies to work on the boards .

Kwe Parker is not somebody who really can create his own shot. He is more of a high energy player, especially on the defensive perimeter.
Yes, he is very athletic and can come off a screen and knock down an open jumper, but scoring is not his main skill set.
If you expect Kwe to come in an get you 20 points a game, you are gonna be disappointed. The only player on the roster who has the potential to do that is Blake Harris.

I thought the starting 5 and second unit played decent last night. We got in trouble when started trying to make those alley oops and long passes that became turnovers.
In a span of 30 sec we went from down by 4 to down by 10...after that the damn broke. If I’m correct coach had changed out players before that happened.

I think we should all stop making excuses about time, because every team in the nation is dealing with the same. I do understand the personnel aspect, where we do have a lot of new faces, and guys are trying to find their roles on the team.
However, with a SR PG, who lead the nation is assists last year, is the current MEAC All time leader in assists, and is the current preseason MEAC POY, definitely expecting more from him in his floor leadership. I will give credit where it is due so kudos young man for your improved FT shooting. I dont know how vocal he is, but he has enough equity in this program to be able to go to guys and let them know when bad shots are taken, and where he needs them to be in certain scenarios.
I will harp on this til something changes, but you CANNOT have Kam and Harris on the floor together for any extended period of time. 1) it keeps 1 additional scorer off the floor on the first unit and 2) it leaves your 2nd unit with no true PG. When Kwe returns, you can run him at SG1 with Kam and allow Harris and Duling run the 2nd team, which is a legit 2nd backcourt.
In every game played this season its way too much iso ball which is leading to bad late shot clock shot attempts. If you're going to play so much iso, then they're has to much more movement without the ball.
Honestly, I wonder if they go back and watch games they've played because they're has been something in each that teams have done against us offensively that I would definitely take and try implement in my offense. The one that sticks out the most to me is the slip screen the Hayden Brown kid from the citadel ran where one time he slipped and dove to basket for and dink, ran it again and popped and hit a three.
I wonder what our go to set is, the team knows if they run it to perfection they will get a good luck. Where is maybe a staggered baseline screen set to get Cleveland and baseline look.
Definitely want to see more pick and pops with Harry because against zone he will most likely get good look over a shorter player at top of zone, or if against man his guy may not feel as comfortable stepping out and he may get a little space to shoot. Let's not forget there can still be action behind this which again you allow Harry to make that decision at top of key.
I guess in nutshell I just want to see more creativeness on the offensive end, right now we just dribble til shot clock runs down.
Oh yeah and for those that saw a fairly close score late in the first half and said wow we are competing. I hate to inform you but most of these teams like a VCU, the Citadel, kind of know they can pit there foot on gas at any moment and pull away as evidenced coming out of the half. They know their oponent.
Patiently waiting to see the improvement each time out thats all we can ask, be better than the day before, stop making same mistakes.
I love Aggie Athletics.
Let's go.
