LOL I see some of us think we are better than what we are. Just face it, this was a game we were no match for as I stated before. Obviously the coach is trying to figure out his rotations on the fly with no real offseason. This board really needs to to temper there expectations of this team. It hurts I know. I don’t think folks are questioning how good the team is but we are questioning why we have a 6”11 guy that’s plays 11 minutes and scores 10 points !!! And that has been general trend all year

Relax, gentlemen. This game was booked in 48/72 hours. We didn’t have a normal off-season. No matter how you slice it, this game is practice. We also have a back 2 back on Tuesday and Wednesday in VA. BTW, Morice is out on the floor now. So based on your theory, coach is "saving" his better players for next week's games. Are those games more important than today's game? Will we get more street creds by winning next week's game. If this is his tactic I don't understand it.

It’s not my theory, it’s what was said by the coach. Specifically, we’re focused on winning the MEAC.

Coach is letting philosophy overtake the ability to coach. He knows better. There are some things he should know by now.
1. Kam is your best player, period. 2. You can’t run against a bigger mer athletic team 3, Kam and Blake are the same player, so they can’t play together for a lot of minutes 4. There is no shooter on the squad 5. All the players are at least two inches shorter than listed. So we really have a lot of guys that are really 6’4 6’’5 posi g as a front court. 6. Some players are just downright lazy on defense 7. Insert at least one legitimate half court set that has movement other than top side screen with no roll. 8. HARRY MUST PLAY!!! 9. The Jones boys are not the Jackson boys 10. Fred is MEAC good but not as a PG 11. Q. Jones still shoots too much. Maybe 15% from 3-pt range 12. Blake pouts a lot. 13. The dogs are Kam, Duling and Tyler but God didn’t bless with height. 14. If games were only twenty minutes we’d be fine.

28.4% shooting from the floor, 16% from 3 point and 44.4% from free point. Looks like we still haven't found anyone to can consistently hit shots.

I dont want to get blown out the gym by VCU...that will be the 7th game, so by the 7th game he shouldnt know his rotations? I agree he should but I also was not drinking the cool aid coach has been selling from day one. I’ve always been in wait and see mode. However back to your argument, with no offseason to see what personnel works best it will take time. TBH I rather him sort that out now than during conference play. The Citadel game really put a lot in perspective about this team. Coach likes to play full court defense to force turnovers and create fast break easy offense opportunities. But as soon as teams beak the defense then score, it forces us to play a half court game, and we struggle with no real offensive sets. We seem to be one dimensional in that aspect. It also explains why he doesn’t like to use traditional big men like Harry. It was evident today that we can lean on Harry for buckets down low in half court but that’s not his style of offense, which it needs to be. Coach needs to adapt. Hopefully he does so SOON!

greensboro.com/sports/college/a-big-moment-for-stanford-and-n-c-a-t/article_8bede326-3686-11eb-a7a1-ef96401225ec.htmlThe gravity of the moment hit Stanford star Oscar da Silva when the recordings of two songs performed by A&T’s Blue and Gold Marching Machine were played: “Lift Every Voice and Sing” and “The Star-Spangled Banner.” “It was special,” said da Silva, a native of Munich, Germany, who is fluent in six languages. “I really kind of embraced that moment when we were lined up along the free-throw lines and heard the songs for about 4 or 5 minutes, a lot longer than normally. It goes through your head during that time the significance of the game we’re playing.” Jones got a boost from an unexpected source before the game when Stanford junior Bryce Willis sought out the Aggies’ coach. Willis went up to Jones and said “he really appreciated the opportunity to come here.” “He came, sat down with me and had about a five-minute conversation,” Jones added. “He just thought it was unbelievable that he had an opportunity to play here at North Carolina A&T in this game. That’s impact. That’s what you want.”

That’s a good call above . A good friend of mine who is in the Indiana High School basketball Hall of fame told me good coaches don’t like any style of play more than any other. good coaching happens when a coach plays a style that maximizes the type of talent he has on the floor . Again this is not last years team with Haygood and Ron Jackson to dominating athletic stretch 4’s. It’s not 1 player on this years team that fits that mold. They could force turnover and score quickly this years team can’t do that . Our trap works as it take the opposing team out of their normal offense but most teams can break it because we don’t have 2 super athletic stretch 4’s so no turnover generated

Um, ease up people. The BIG prize is to win the MEAC Tournament. The Regular season ship is 2nd.
Coach Jones is figuring out a lot of things...combinations, hustlers, shooters, etc. with his eye on the BIG prize and #2.
Also, this is his 1st season in this position AND in a pandemic environment where he was not able to have practice as normal.
Related to Harry, he is still a work in progress, from what I can tell, but I expect he'll get better and be a bit of a force in the MEAC. Also remember that he's just a Sophomore.
All that said, I'm still ticked that we lost to that less talented citadel team. Smh.

Starters should be...
PG - Kam, floor general SG - Duling, best pure scorer on roster SF - Lyons, best overall athletic big, can defend all positions, good candidate for 3 and D guy PF - T. Jones, serviceable post presence on both ends C - Morrice, can be a legitimate offensive threat if used properly; most upside on that end of the floor on roster
PG2 - Harris, nest ball handler on roster, can create off dribble drive SG2 - Cleveland, best pure spot up shooter on roster SF2 - Robinson, undersized post, decent outside shooter but can also finish around the basket PF2 - Q. Jones, stretch 4, needs to pick it up on defensive end C2 - Greer, size alone he needs to be able to give you 10-12 minutes a game and focus only on hitting glass and protecting the rim.
- unfortunately you cannot have both Kam and Harrison the floor at same time, both are pass first PGs with mediocre at best jump shots, teams, just as Stanford did (shocker those guys did their homework) will just sag off both clogging passing lanes and force a bunch of jump shots
Hopefully, notes are being taken and these rotations are starting to take shape behind closed doors.
Maybe we'll see something in these next few OOC games.
I thinknthe pieces are there just need to find right recipe for success.
