This is total horse crap. It wasn't "worth the squeeze" when it was just 6 games against 3 scrub MEAC teams either. It was never about about winning a spring national championship. It was just trying to give these kids some live game experiences. Nothing changed in that regard from when we were just playing Central and SCSU twice. How come Earl didn't decide to pull the plug then? It was still worth the squeeze last week.

Is it worth playing this spring without a playoff berth? To the AD, it didn’t seem that way.
Is he right here?

Is it worth playing this spring without a playoff berth? To the AD, it didn’t seem that way. Is he right here? We would’ve still been able to make the playoffs. The only thing given up would’ve been the automatic bid as a conference champion. The at-large bid was still available (there are 6 slots for it this spring). Which we would have had a good shot at winning out and being the #10 team in the nation and likely jumping further in the polls as the year went on. So to answer your question, no.

www.wxii12.com/article/covid-football-college-nca-t-meac-cancel/35482736NC A&T, however, will not be with the MEAC next year. This was supposed to be the last year for the university to be with the conference before it moved to the Big South Conference. "We pictured this year going very differently as you can imagine," said Earl Hilton, the athletic director of NC A&T. "We hoped to travel to all of our sister schools, be on their campuses, participate across a wide range of sports, celebrate, commiserate, say goodbye, win a few championships...yeah we saw this going differently." NC A&T head football coach Sam Washington added, "For us not to have the opportunity to finish what we started, it hurts." Now that the team will not play, the Hilton noted the university could see a net loss of between $300,000 and $400,000 from not having football games.

Gate receipts and money from games being televised? Sponsorship dollars during the broadcast?

I blame the corona virus and how so many people handled it so poorly that it was allowed to become a pandemic...

Mine is a tie between Earl Hilton and Chancellor Martin.
HIlton couldn't have done anything without Martin's approval, but both gentlemen knew that our best hope was give the MEAC the peace sign and to go it alone.
They were prepared to do it last fall, but got spooked by the Miami Marlins testing positive and a Ed Hardin column. Neither were willing to show enough courage and do what needed to be done.

The obvious answer is Legion of Gloom Members. As a founding member, I take full credit for this spring football season debacle and for NCCU dropping baseball. Standback and Standby, I ain't none yet.
Nobody is to blame!!!
