FAMU needs the gate receipts. If fans are allowed in the stands, they are playing. If the MEAC didn't play in the Spring, they would play with the SWAC as an out of conference opponent. Good point. I didn’t think about that. I assume the same applies to Cookman. The question is how many paying fans will be allowed and will the gate receipts exceed the costs of playing.

I careless about what revenue receipts FAMU needs . Unless your on the inside of their administration or know someone that is I would refrain from commenting on FAMU's situation .I would feel the same way and so would you if a FAMU fan/ graduate would comment on A&T's situation . Pittsburgh what say you !! From what I've heard, head football coach Willie Simmons is pushing folks to play. Per insiders, he was the driving force behind the move to the SWAC, and he is the driver behind trying to play in the fall or spring at almost any cost. He would love to be every SWAC teams OOC opponent in the spring.
I believe that their AD is smart enough to figure out how to negotiate budgetary problems without needing to put players on-the-field.
Other comments will be in the private forum.

Putting health risks aside for a moment, with the NCAA granting essentially a free year of eligibility, what does that mean for us specifically?? Will the NCAA allow schools to carry more than the usual number of scholarships? If so, can we (A&T) afford to carry the additionally scholarships? Will this create a schools-that-can-afford-it versus schools-that-cannot-afford-it scenario? If the limit isn't increased, how does that affect the incoming kids that have committed to us? To me, the NCAA has many more decisions to make & questions to answer. We all agree that this is an unprecedented time but, again, the NCAA has not formulated a PLAN. Perhaps, just perhaps, this is what AD Hilton is awaiting.

This is hearsay but a friend of a friend inside the NCAA stated to me that they NCAA is looking into giving they effected seniors there lost year back if they chose to opt out of playing in the spring season (if they have one ) for the fall with an increase in roster size for one season ( Fall season ) also as before it boils down to those that have and those that do not have with a twist in favor of the Have Nots . To be continued.

To me, there are still some important unanswered questions but, surprisingly, the NCAA is attempting to plan ahead... Football Oversight Committee recommends eight-game spring seasonThe Football Oversight Committee on Thursday agreed to recommend to the Division I Council a spring-season model for conferences that push their seasons to spring of 2021. It includes 15 practices in 29 days and an eight-game season that must end by April 17. Any other conferences that have postponed their season because of the coronavirus pandemic but decide to resume playing games earlier than next spring will not be able to use the 15-practice model, but it will be recommended all leagues that have postponed will have 13 weeks to complete their seasons. The committee will also ask the Council to extend the recruiting dead period to Oct. 31 and to eliminate the evaluation period for football in the fall. The Division I Council is expected to vote on the recommendations at its Sept. 16 meeting. West Virginia athletic director Shane Lyons, the chair of the FOC, told ESPN that the committee wanted to give any conferences that are not playing the flexibility to determine their schedule, but he said that for any leagues pushing their season back to the spring, it would be an eight-game schedule. Any conferences that start earlier can play more games within their allotted 13 weeks. surprised none of the bsc fans even mentioned that the bsc is also playing a "spring 2021" football season. so a&t would not be at a competitive disadvantage if it decides to play a "spring 2021" meac football season because the bsc is doing the same thing...
