Yeah I get the geographic decision, but the Top Four Teams in the Conference are all in the South. The North is wide open. I see why Buddy wanted to move us up to the North.

Why this charade? This amounts to no more than an exhibition season unless the NCAA decides to offer a spring FCS championship playoff format for all the conference champions or there's a spring rescheduling of the Celebration Bowl with an re-affirmation of the guarantee.
Otherwise it's just wasting a year of each kid's eligibility and putting them at unnecessary injury risk for little or nothing.
In any event, I'm not particularly confident that the country will be in any better shape to play football in the spring without some substantial change in our current national testing policy as well as bringing far more discipline to the social behavior on these college campuses.

It also gives the NCAA and out for offering and additional year of eligibility.

We can agree to disagree, but there are 15 5th year senior who may not want to come back for a 6th year of college football and there's an incoming class of freshmen and redshirt freshmen that will want the opportunity to play next year.
There's also a freshman class of college students who won't experience a thing but their dorm rooms and the cafe for their 1st semester on campus. If there's an opportunity for there to be games in the spring, they should be played.

I have to commend the two conferences for trying. Let's hope all goes well and the outcome will be favorable.

A&T remains undecided about MEAC's plan to play fall sports in spring Jeff Mills jeff.mills@greensboro.com 1 hr ago GREENSBORO — The MEAC has released a plan for playing its postponed fall sports in the spring. But whether N.C. A&T’s fall teams play in the second semester remains to be seen. “We won’t make any decisions about our willingness to participate in a MEAC football or volleyball season until much later in this semester,” A&T athletics director Earl Hilton said. “We’re going to be in consultation with our student-athletes and coaches, and we’ll base our decision upon them and upon sound medical advice.” This afternoon, the league unveiled a plan for a football season that would split the league into Northern and Southern divisions. Each team would play six conference games in the nine weeks starting Feb. 27, 2021, and running through April 24, with the division winners playing for the MEAC championship May 1. Volleyball, meanwhile, would play its season in January and February, with a championship tournament March 13-14 in Norfolk, Va. College athletes who play fall sports, including football, will be given a free year of eligibility no matter how much they compete over the next 10 months if an NCAA recommendation is approved later this week. This makes even more sense to play in the spring.

Why does it make more sense? You not worried about the players health?

Just come out and say that we are turning the page on the MEAC. It’s a little disingenuous to say we are concerned about the safety of student athletes when just a few weeks ago we were champing at the bit to play football.
