GRAMBLING, La. (AP) — One person was wounded in a shooting at a Louisiana university but neither the shooter nor victim was a student or employee, a spokeswoman for Grambling State University said Friday.

The victim of Thursday night's shooting was recovering in a hospital from an injury that is not life-threatening, according to a university news release sent Friday.

Lincoln Parish sheriff’s deputies and city and state police were helping the 18 campus officers ramp up security after the shooting, which occurred about 10 p.m. between Pinchback and Douglass Halls, university spokeswoman Tisha Arnold said.
