Keys would have a redshirt year available to him if for some reason he and the coaches chose to exercise that option. He played as a first reserve as a freshman in 2017 and has started at right tackle the last two years gaining All-MEAC honors last year.

Seems to me...they should get a waiver for transfers so it doesn't affect the team's APR.

He has graduated already. He would have been a grad student.

Well from what I've seen so far, Keyes hasn't touched the field, not even on XP.
Hope the transfer was worth it.

I know hindsight is 20/20, but Keyes was a RS FR on that 2018 FCS/HBCU Aggies squad that went to Mobile and beat JX State in their backyard and finished season 10-2. Turn the calendar forward and now he's a RS SR on FBS FIU team that just lost at home to same FCS JX State team is currently sitting at 0-3.
As long as his talent continues to shine through he still may garner an opportunity to play professionally.
Still wish he would have stayed, because as they saying goes, "if you can play, they'll find you", (i.e. Tarik Cohen, Brandon Parker, Daryl Johnson Jr.)

He was on the field last night but imo struggled a bit. Gave up a sack and nearly a second one.

I hope it goes well for him but he probably had to learn a new blocking scheme not to much of a big deal. However Coach Matt’s would been enhancing his positives and working on thing he could do better. Coach Matt’s and Washington would have been trying to get him to the next level.
There is no way his current coaches are focused on what is best for Keyes.

Being a transfer Keys should be ahead or equal to the lineman that are there already, the only thing that may hinder Keys is learning the line terminology and Hot and cold signals .You have to remember that Keys chose them they didn't choose Keys. Keys did this to himself; having been a player transferring in to a program they expect you to know certain things expressly the basic things because they don't have time to do intermediate learning on the Fly .
