That doctor has more qualifications that anyone you can name. He is a leader in the field of infectious diseases. It's funny how you immediately discredit a medical expert that doesn't agree with your opinion.

Thrilla, just because you think he is qualified don't mean he can't be bought. Enough money can make a person do and say anything.
The season ain't started yet, anything can happen between now and then. Wait and see. Hopefully, those conferences that plan to still play will change their minds and put the players health first instead of money.

Why is it that the doctors that dont share your medical opinion (as decorated and proven as you might be) are all on the take? These are some of the most respected people in their field, but because they say something you think is impossible they have been bought by someone.
You are just like 45 and the Fox News gang with these unfounded conspiracy theories.

It seems I have to keep reminding you of that every few months or so. Just because you dont personally want to discuss a topic does not mean it won't continued to be discussed. And as I have told you before, your only option is to find creative ways to deal with it.

Could this change the game for college sports? www.cnn.com/world/live-news/coronavirus-pandemic-08-15-20-intl/h_1144c22081a8f66bbdea33bde13edd2bThe US Food and Drug Administration announced Saturday that it has granted emergency use authorization to a Covid-19 diagnostic test that uses a new, inexpensive method of processing saliva samples. The test, called SalivaDirect, has been found to be highly sensitive, yielding similar outcomes to nasopharyngeal swabbing. Under the observation of a health care worker, saliva is self-collected in a sterile container without the use of a specific swab or collection device. The molecular diagnostic test can yield results in under three hours, researchers said, and up to 92 samples can be tested at once. Researchers said the test costs only a couple dollars for reagents, and they expect labs to charge only about $10 per sample. The method is being used by the National Basketball Association to test asymptomatic people for coronavirus. The NBA was among the groups that funded the research.

NBA, Yale Land the COVID-19 Testing Breakthrough the NFL (and the General U.S. Public) Has Been Hoping ForCharles Robinson NFL Columnist Yahoo Sports Aug 15, 2020 @ 2:33 PM
In a significant turn of events in COVID-19 testing, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted an emergency authorization for the public to begin employing a saliva-based test expected to significantly increase the availability, turnaround time and affordability of combating the coronavirus epidemic in the United States.
Developed by Yale University and jointly funded by the NBA and NBA Players Association, the testing method was granted approval by the FDA on Saturday.
The test — coined SalivaDirect — was developed to throttle up the screening process for a wide swath of Americans. The FDA approval marks a significant turn for testing in the U.S., creating the opportunity to make regular testing more readily available.
The retail pricing and companies that will carry the testing into the public domain are yet to be determined. The developers have revealed that testing could be done for as little as $4, although retail pricing is expected to be higher than that due to the cost of production, marketing, supply lines and retail outlet markups...

The NFL might have a chance to have some fans at their game. You line fans up at 8:00 AM to get tested and they might know the result at 11 AM which is good enough to get in the stadium. I think a sport like Volleyball and Bowling could start on time.

I think a sport like Volleyball and Bowling could start on time. The league will not spend millions of dollars a week on testing fans. Attend at your own risk or stay home and watch on TV. the nfl stands to make far more "money" by testing fans every week rather than not at all. when fans stay home, there's no ticket, parking, or concessions revenue made by each franchise. whereas the cost of testing a fan (assuming the silava test is widely available for $10 or less) will cost a lot "less" than the cost of a single game day ticket. plus, throw in the profits of "parking and concessions" and the nfl could easily make a profit large enough to cover testing costs and still make a far better profit than for fans to stay home...
