EAST GREENSBORO – North Carolina A&T Athletics is reporting four positive coronavirus cases among student-athletes since their return to campus on July 6. All four student-athletes are asymptomatic. If the student-athletes have university housing and have tested positive, they are being isolated in a designated area on campus. Their meals are being delivered. It just the fact A&T cannot keep up with every student althelete, contact tracing, quarantine methods. It is asking to much of our sports program Who knows how many other people they have already affected.
At the end of the day either the UNC system is going to cancel or the MEAC conf.
I hope I am wrong by the way.

It is asking to much of our sports program Who knows how many other people they have already affected. We should assume everyone is a carrier of the virus. Positive tests should not be a big surprise right now. Positive tests + major symptoms are what should be a cause for concern.

Man, its over, not just because of this incident of course, but just in general. Its irresponsible to have a football season at this point. Who going to feed all them players. Who going to clean up after them. Who going to do security. Having hundreds of athletes on campus is not JUST 100s of athletes on campus. Its having staff(not just football related) on campus as well.

Positive tests should not be a big surprise right now. Positive tests + major symptoms are what should be a cause for concern. To get an accurate understanding all incoming students need to be tested . Because there are a great number of Silent Spreaders that show no symptoms at all and even after testing positive they still do not show symptoms of 19. Their is no way of getting around testing the entire student body . If A&T is going to open do the doggone thing right from the get go . Testing should be mandatory before or during enrollment no certified test no enrollment.

quite honestly on the "real tip", i expect every college football team in the country to have a small percentage of players contract the virus before arriving on campus "whether they play football this season or not".
a small percentage of college football players (just like anybody in their age group) is already likely to contract the virus "before arriving on campus" whether they play football or not play football.
so yes, i expect a&t to have some players with the virus just like i expect every college football team in america to have some players with the virus "whether they play football this season or not". a lot of college aged students already have the virus but don't even know they have it (asymptomatic). so it shouldn't be a surprise that a&t had some players test positive, i "expected" it just like i expect every college team in america to have players test positive.
so to me, the question ain't whether college players will contract the virus, some of them will have it "before" they ever set foot on campus. to me the question is whether you can prevent it from "spreading". that's the key along with accurate testing...

additionally, its probably a good thing that all athletes on campus are gonna be tested because some of them otherwise would be freely walking the streets having no idea whatsoever that they have the virus and hence, would be more likely to pass the virus to folk like me and everybody else. so to me, its a good thing that the athletes are being tested, especially those who are "asymptomatic"...

You playing the "better to have organized sick people than unorganized sick people" card. It aint just about the players. Its all "whatever, whatever" until coach gets it from one of those guys. Or the janitor, or the cook, etc, etc,

Coach, janitor or cook can get it at the grocery store, restaurant, Home Depot... Put on your mask, wash your hands and stay 6 feet away.
3 million people have already gotten it and not one football game has been played.

Or the janitor, or the cook, etc, etc, But you can minimize little bit that if A&T could afford to have them cater food in the football facility. Everyone is living in one specific dorm for there online classes. They are not allowed to walk around campus. So they go from practice to dorm practice to dorm only. You have to put them in a control enviroment. they may not even be able to go home until the football season is over.

I'd be shocked if we play a single down of football this year.

This is correct - “Covid stops w me” this is the goal. A&T and all of sports is doing a major job in slowing down the virus because they test, trace and quarantine. It may be a lot to ask but A&T is already doing this for the general public. I was surprised there was not more to be honest - and we should be prepared for more cases. But it’s not the end of the world. We have a less than 1% death rate most people will get it and never know it. The number everyone should be looking at is Hospitalizations. That’s the number that overwhelms the system and causes problems. State officials base mostly everything off this metric.
