Don't remember seeing this kid (Jared Crawl-Bey - 6'5, 240 - DT/LT) listed in here. Found out, yesterday, he's coming to AggieLand. Don't know if he's scholarship, PWO or WO. twitter.com/jicb50?lang=enAggie One you know anything about this kid. We seem to run a clinic in Charlotte recruits. Aggie Monster is the expert in DB and OL we see what he thinks. This dude is a beast on film his run block looks better than his pass block what he lack in size only 6'5( preferable 6'9) he makes up in speed and good fundamental skills) Offensive Tackles are Big and Tall. (He lacks size) Offensive Tackles are Athletic.(Yes) Offensive Tackles are Aggressive.(Yes) Offensive Tackles are Tough.(No) Offensive Tackles are Smart.(No) He Must be a Great Pass Blocker.(Yes) He Must Create Holes in the Running Game.(Yes) He Must Keep "Outside Contain" (Yes) how can this kid not be on scholarship. Are we that bad off? Trues - I understand he's gonna play DE, but we'll see.

According to the scouting report from Prep Red Zone he's one of the most underrated defensive linemen coming out of Charlotte this spring. Looks like we grabbed another "diamond in the rough" player who floated under the radar of the bigger FBS programs. He had always been on ours since early May 2020 because we offered him way back then. "Crawl-Bey is an edge-setting defensive lineman that doesn’t allow opposing running backs to get outside of him when lined up as a DE. He creates constant pressure because he is quick around the edge and has an effective swim move he uses to beat blocks. Jared shoots the gap before offensive linemen are in position, which is a rare trait to have."www.prepredzone.com/2020/09/most-underrated-dl-in-charlotteHudl highlights from this just concluded spring season: www.hudl.com/profile/9623115/Jared-CrawlBey

With all these defensive lineman coach wants the line to have enough of them to be ready for Duke's hurry up offense this time around. LOL

Kind of gives you a small idea on just how deep we are talent wise regarding the scholarship players and transfers we signed in the earlier periods.

Does anyone know if we have offered the LB from Alabama A&M that went into the portal, SWAC defensive POY with 2 years eligibility.

How many unused scholarships do you think NCAT is sitting on waiting to pick from the portal. Seems to me commitments have had to be made to returning players by now. Of course we don't know who is returning given the pandemic...

My bad I misread your original post Ok. Thought you got it from somewhere else and wanted to know where. Given the fact Baker, Martin and others are coming back plus the fact we have a high retention rate. How many players since this pandemic have left the team and went to the portal. One or Two maybe. I do not know how Washington is finding scholarship money for these kids unless they are using academic monies

When you have a chancellor that realizes the importance of Athletics they will get the scholarships figured out. You are correct a full academic scholarship and full athletic scholarship both handle your tuition and boarding !
Also with the level of student athlete we are getting we can maximize the athletic budget by putting some of those guys on an academic scholarship

So the FCS says we can only have 63 players on scholarship does that include academic scholarships or not? Be careful how you answer the question because if it does not include Academic that means we could have 100 plus players on athlete and academic scholarship.
Scholarship Count: FCS schools have 63 scholarships to be distributed, and up to 30 incoming players each year can be given aid.
Scholarship Breakdown: Scholarships at FCS schools can be full or partial rides. The 63 grants can be divided up in any way, but no more than 85 players can be put on scholarship.
Does this mean the 85 is the cap for scholarship weather its athlete or academic?

The NCAA does not count Academic scholarships because they do not count against the Athletic budget that is a completely different funding Process altogether .
