Someone stated that NCCu’s campus culture SUCKS compared to A&T. In present time, Is that statement still true?, outside of GHOE .. EVERYTHING related to Central sucks compared to A&T. EVERYTHING.

The little publicity they stir up isn't a show stopper. I agree we need to embrace our civil rights heritage from The A&T Four to Ron McNair's civil rights challenges as a child. But we need to be the HBCU that is competing with local and regional PWIs. I like coach Moton but outside of a few basketball fanatics, he and NCCU don't show up on the HBCU radar.

Y'all forget: Jones has only officially been coach for 18 days, not 18 years.

Like how the hell did NCCU jump us in being the top HBCU brand in basketball in the state of NC?? I mean I know that Central has had some success lately on the court, but to gain the attention of Lebron and his son??? We ain't flexing enough and our social media game has got to step up. That's why I was imploring us to reclaim Taraji Henson, celebrate our connection with Maseo who was a founding father of funk, and really work on getting our name and our brand into the right circles so that we are even more visible than we currently are. Which gets back to my original critique....what visibility is the BS going to give us that the MEAC didn't? Our peak in enrollment coincided with 4 out of 5 years of being featured on national network television, a benefit that was afforded to us as champions of the MEAC. With that possibility gone after 2020, where will our national brand be solidified? Winning a national title in track? Continuing to lean upon the popularity of the GHOE brand? All of those would be great. But I fear that our failure to strike while the iron is hot and become entrenched into the zeitgeist of Black popular culture is waning now and will be further weakened by a move to the BS (unless we mess around and win the FCS playoffs...and not just a game or two in the opening rounds). If Lebron's son signs with NCCU our days as being the top dog in this state are going to be severely threatened. Just imagine Lebron being courtside in McDougald-Mclendon gym and pumping money into their program. Advantage NCCU and MAJOR advantage for the MEAC...we need to step it up big time. If Lebron's son signs with anyone it may just be with Howard because of the signing of a legitimate big man which would make his life a lot easier. The only problem I see is does Lebron's son have the grades to compete in the classroom. What are you basing that off of?

Now mind you...I grew up a HUGE Tar Heels hoops fan like most kids born and raised in NC. So hear is UNC's public statement which they JUST dropped: [facebook url=" /?d=null&vh=i"] It is clear that statement's like these are put out to try to stem the tide of Black athletes who may be looking to leave for HBCUs. Now why shouldn't HBCU's counter with their own public statements/videos?? Remind Black athletes that Black lives have ALWAYS MATTERED at A&T. We championed them then (show an image of the sit-ins) and we champion them now (show a video of our football team touching the feet of the A&T Four statue). Again...this is chess, not checkers. We shouldn't let NCCU try to out "civil rights" us but we DAMN SURE shouldn't let Duke or UNC do it. Step up and remind them who WE are. FLEX.

If it is "Howard because it would make his life a lot easier " ? That's a no brainer a good big man complements a good guard play . Or the only problem I see is does Lebron's son have the grades to compete in the classroom ? I say that about any in coming Freshman. It not a slight it's just a fact that all freshman face transitioning from High school to College . Now why do you ask ?

It definitely came across as a slight. If you feel that about all freshmen, then there was no need to single him out. And why wouldn’t he have the “grades”? Strong family that has supported him and put him in the best possible chance to succeed athletically and academically.

But I stand by my post and yes I do feel that way about all freshman because having spent years as a recruiter and as a recruiting consultant I have seen the best and the worse of both sides in the recruiting game when it comes to classroom academic performance by freshman . The point you fail to comprehend is strong family or not the stringent college curriculum is a different ball game with a lot of different and unknown variables . The period of adjustment socially and academically must be prioritized and being an athlete makes it that much harder for newly enrolled freshman too transcend to and having a famous parent does not make the road any easier . Think or feel what you will but their was no slighting or hating intended in my statement . If it had been a athlete from a single parent household with out the strongest family Optics . Would you have shown the same concern about my post ? SMIB

I’m not failing to comprehend anything. You didn’t articulate your point. You were concerned about his “grades”. As if he was graduating high school with a 2.0 and 700 on the SAT and wouldn’t be eligible. Which is why I asked you what you were basing your opinion on. Were you aware of some learning disability that the rest of the public hadn’t heard of.
You can me off like Laura Ingram “Shut up and Dribble”
If he came from a single parent family I would still question you on why you thought he wouldn’t have the grades, without any inside knowledge. But, yes it’s more alarming, when Bronny has been in prep schools his whole life and afforded the best teachers and tutors available.
