Is Hampton that bad. Do you think that there is a recruiting problem? I'm sure Harvey didn't make that move to become a door mat or finish at the bottom of the conference. Basketball may be his strength, but the golden nuggets are in football.
CSU had a good team last year with a first year coach. He has recruited well. He recruits heavily in SC, GA, FL, and a bit in NC. Those are great places to recruit.

Dr. Harvey can't be happy with this, though.

Robert Prunty has to be one of the worst head coach hires in recent memory. Harvey wanted a true blue Hampton loyalist for the job and he has one in Prunty but he's not the program builder that they really need.
He was simply awful at ECU as the defensive coordinator under Scottie Montgomery and so far in his tenure with the Pirates that much hasn't changed.

You do know that Harvey is under heavy fire from his alums. They want him out.

Ain't really been the same since he forced Joe Taylor out. Mediocre records and dissatisfied coaches. Methinks the mediocre records may be in part due to dissatisfied coaches.
Big South must be getting better. I knew Autry Denson came along during his first year at Chaz Southern but yeesh. Of course if he wins there for two or three years he is gone.

This is his ticket up to the power conferences. So far, he looks like an excellent coach.

Hamptons academic standards for their students athletes were a lot higher than the average MEAC institutions and Hampton may be experiencing the same in the BS. Hamptons academic standards puts a limit on prospective prospects.

If this was 2021 I bet we would be ranked #2 in this preseason Big South poll
the stage for us to dominate as I don’t think Kennesaw State sticks around the Big South

I would disagree about the higher academic standards. I know of at least to instances where they took NC MBB players who could not enroll at NCAT. They had a program which allowed them to take at risk students. Do not recall the name of the program .

A&T has a program that is similar but they choose not to use it on there athletes; but it is available if needed.
