This is going to be some hard times but I wonder if you have to keep the 1st and 2nd string QB away from each other in meeting and in social life because if they both get the virus we would be trouble. I hate to say this but do you Martin, McCain, Leslie, punter and kicker in isolation during the season.

Opposite approach. Coaches will want everybody to get the virus at the same time to build herd immunity.
Kinda like our parents did in the 80s when your sibling got chicken pox. It was gonna be a one-time package deal for the entire household.

There are to many unknown variables about 19 to suggest that the Herd Immunity Theory will work with a virus that continues to mutate . I know if I had a child in school at this time ; there is no way that I would sign any type of waiver so that my child could attend school . There is growing proof that 19 is starting to effect the 20 to 30 crowd at an alarming rate .

i can't remember which professional league it was (nfl, nba, mlb, mls), but one of the pro leagues is adding a rule that if any player comes down with covid-19, then that player will automatically be deemed "out for the rest of the season".
its a very strict rule, but perhaps the ncaa should adopt the same rule. it is strict and may have a drastic impact on any given team, but it'll also force the players to be "extra careful" not to contract the virus...

Don't our players still room together on campus? Some stay in Cooper Hall but quite a few will be in the newly acquired apartments purchased adjacent to campus.

There is a spike of the virus in NC and the South. The governor is taking some measures to try and mitigate the problem. Don't know if he will be successful or not. The cases rise each day. The repubs are using this as a political issue to attack the governor without any expertise on anything dealing with the science of the virus. They have introduced legislation to prevent him from making decisions. This virus seems to be settling in for a long, long stay. How this will affect the season is a wait and see game. Since the sport is total body contact at all times, transmission of the virus is quite easy. Will someone come up with a magical uniform that will offer the players protection? To prevent the spread of the virus, will the players spend most of their time in self isolation, to protect their friends, parents, siblings, other family members as well as girlfriends? The UNC system is on edge.

Right there are too many unknowns with this recombinant virus which negates a vaccine in the immediate future. Part of the answer lies with the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill where this virus was manipulated to the point of the gain of function factor not Wuhan China.

I my opinion this football season is not that important and should be scrapped . There is a chance of an domino effect that could possibly roll over into the other spots and effect there seasons and the fanbase . Look there is no way around this but the best thing for all involved is to conduct all classes on line for a semester with hope that we can get a handle on 19 . My wife continues to say that opening up too soon will only make things worse then they already are .

I agree. As much as I want to see the team play this year. It's way too many risks involved to have these kids group up together, possibly become asymptomatic then go home when the season is over and the spread virus to loved ones. There are not enough protective measures in the world that can prevent 18-22 year olds from spreading this virus once they get on campus.

The public policy of Drumpf is to blame as well as those others who have bowed to him rather than to the science. Even here North Carolina is about to grt in a hot mess with the Governor looking at a possible law suit while the spike is on.

Our fearless leader, "THE FAKE PRESIDENT" will lead all our fall hopes to hell with his continued pronouncements of a disappearance of c-19. Many of the SEC players are testing positive. Mount Rushmore will test positive after "The Fake President" leaves the Black (BLM & Indians) Hills of South Dakota.
