I feel sorry for our Big South GHOE opponent lol. They're going to catch GHOE 2.021 in full effect. Believe it or not a lot of people are still talking about just showing up since they have the reservations and time off assuming phase 3 of reopening occurs in a month or so... They are going to end up with more than theee days off once they catch COVID. I don't disagree with you at all. It's a huge risk. I'm definitely not taking it, however think about the young invincible alums still in their early to mid 20s...If the bars/lounges reopen they'll be there and on campus. The recent graduates were on the news talking about how they all planned to attend GHOE because they couldn't celebrate together for their final semester of college including graduation. I wouldn't call it cancelled completely if the game still takes place.

If we get over this for 2021, we need to have AggieFest in the spring to make up for the homecoming loss. You could combined AggieFest and the Blue and Gold spring football game together if A&T moves it to the spring .

folks, there is no "substitute" for ghoe. can't recreate it during basketball season nor during the spring. sometimes you just have to write things off as a loss and begin planning for the following year.
when katrina hit new orleans, they moved the essence festival to houston for a year. needless to say, houston was "nothing" like new orleans. they would've been better off just "skipping" that year before returning to new orleans the following year.
same for ghoe. there is no "substitute" for ghoe. write it off and plan for ghoe 2021...

Believe it or not a lot of people are still talking about just showing up since they have the reservations and time off assuming phase 3 of reopening occurs in the month or so... i'll be doing exactly that. won't be exactly the same as a traditional ghoe, but its always good to revisit the campus for a couple of days and "reminisce" those great memories of the past. plus, most of the ghoe advanced hotel reservations are "guaranteed" by most folk which means technically, those funds are not "refundable". i dunno, maybe some of the hotels will have a "heart" and refund folk their money, but "technically" they do not have to. i'm not gonna cancel mine because i'm going to the game anyway, provided that the game will still be played...

90% of ghoe activities are not sanctioned by the university. So I wish that the announcement was different. Not cancelling GHOE just specific events like the parade and concert. And all on campus student activities. That way their liability is off but people could decide what events they want to participate in like they always do that has nothing to do w the university.
Saying it’s cancelled has effects on the local economy and we don’t even know where we will be come Oct.

nope, swag is right. there's a "ton" of events and parties that's not directly affiliated with a&t. but i don't know if it makes sense for those events to take place given that its likely that a large percentage of folks coming to town this year for ghoe will be significantly less.
i can think of a lot of ghoe event/parties that are not directly affiliated with a&t, i know for sure that some of my frat bruthas sponsor a couple of those events...

But the parties will happen unless stricter social distancing measures come up.
