Posted: Jul 8, 2020 / 03:19 PM EDT / Updated: Jul 8, 2020 / 04:04 PM EDT RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia Union University VP for Athletics Joe Taylor tells 8News that members of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) have proposed the conference move 2020 fall sports to the spring semester. “The AD’s and VP’s sent in a unanimous agreement letter, proposal, to our Commissioner that we feel that it would be safe to wait until second semester,” said Taylor. “Move all of the fall sports to the spring with the understanding that there will be a vaccine by December.” www.wric.com/sports/ciaa-schools-propose-conference-move-fall-sports-to-the-spring/

Yep unclear right now. The CIAA ADs were signing off on an consensus alternative plan just in case the NCAA decides to pull the plug on fall sports or the majority of their member institutions decide they can't safely reopen campuses next month.

This is what Chancellor Martin said was an option during his Town Hall Presentation. Conference only schedule is highly possible for the MEAC

I can not see any rational thinking leader in there right mind that would subjecting other people's children left in there change students and athletes included to the possibility of being exposed to this virus by opening up A&T's campus let alone opening up to have a football season ? I grant you this by opening up A&T's campus and sports if things go south both the Chancellor and AD careers are over . A&T like all other UNC schools will open the campus per guidance from the UNC system. If A&T chooses not to open without that direction from the UNC system it could effect overall funding. I’m sure A&T and other UNC system schools would like nothing better than to go 100 percent online but the board runs the show. That's understandable but the board members careers and necks are not the ones on the line with this thing goes South ( hopefully it want) but what will be there explanation ( the board made me do it) I pray that this may work but if it does not and we start losing student I would hate to be in the Chancellor's shoes knowing that all he had to say was My students safety comes first and classes will continue on line until further notice .

I could see that coming because CIAA and SIAC schools may not have the resources to support testing and PPE protocols for an entire season.

Right the fact is given the reality of the situation in the state in general and the region/south the trajectory of this virus will be or is the determinant factor. Too many are drinking Drumptade in such a frivolous pursuit of insanity. There will be no vaccine which if they come up with I will not be taking it and strongly suggest that none of you take it either. The Cubans have the treatment and means to treat this virus which they are doing around the world. By the way those doctors were ordered out of Brazil due to hate and following 45 so are some of these governors in America.

Just a matter of time before the SWAC cancel based upon the reality in Texas as I see it. It would not surprise me when the MEAC make the announcement of the no fall sports. Too many folk do not want to face the reality that this virus is germ warfare and that we are all at risk. A&T has a school of nano why come a test cannot be develop being that other tests are inadequate. Hail make the Fed pay you or get a grant for the development of a test. The Koreans have a test that is reliable. I mean if we are world class stop faking the funk and be rather than pretend. By the way a point of reference will be the published papers on AIDS to understand where we are such as Nature magazine Dr. Dusenburgh et.al. Basically this is 9/11 chapter 2.
