Texas athletes push for changes to campus, school song to be more racially inclusiveDave Wilson ESPN Staff Writer June 12, 2020 @ 4:29 PM ET
Texas Longhorns athletes are requesting the removal of "The Eyes of Texas" as the school song and changes to names of campus buildings in an effort to make the Austin campus more inclusive to the black community.
Without these changes, athletes said they would practice and participate in team activities but "will not be participating in the recruitment of incoming players or other alumni events."
"The recent events across the country regarding racial injustice have brought to light the systemic racism that has always been prevalent in our country as well as the racism that has historically plagued our campus," the athletes said in a statement, which was shared by several students on social media.
Among their requests are the renaming of four campus buildings that are named after Confederate or racist figures; more diverse statues by people of color; a permanent black athletic history in the school's athletics Hall of Honor; and the renaming of part of Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium after Julius Whittier, the Longhorns' first black player...

Maybe the Clemson players ought to take a page from the Texas players actions. Although I doubt that it will penetrate Sweeney and his staffs heads.

I'm sure that they overplayed their hand on purpose in some of these demands/requests (especially in Texas), but we've got to get their attention and let them know that a lot of this crap is still unacceptable to us.
For instance...
If people read up all of the racist stuff that John C. Calhoun did and legislated in South Carolina and the nation as a U.S. senator, folks would understand why we are not in-favor of anything being named after him. And I believe that there is a "John C. Calhoun Street/Boulevard" in every city, large or small, in the Southeast and Deep South.

I wish them jokers luck on the school song. I'm pretty sure most of Texas still ain't even got over Charlie Strong yet and here y'all come with demands, lol. Maybe the Clemson players ought to take a page from the Texas players actions. Although I doubt that it will penetrate Sweeney and his staffs heads. You know, I see that hick Dabo and wonder how year after year he convinces anybody to come play for him. His drawl alone turns me off, and I'm from Georgia! Then I googled the APR of d-1 schools and saw the following: collegefootballnews.com/2019/05/ncaa-apr-academic-progress-rate-football-bowl-eligibility-rankings-no-1-130APR ranking of 992. Clem pson tied for third with Duke behind Air Force and Northwestern. When that hick Dabo comes in somebody's house and promises them their son is gonna get a degree (probably in basket weaving) and probably a national championship, he means it. And he must be loyal as hell to those kids because they're almost all loyal to him to a fault. With numbers like that they damn near won't have to change a thang anytime soon. Plus he can honestly say "as dumb as I appear to be I'm a multimillionaire. Come learn directly from me!"

Paraphrasing :
You guys cheer for players in stand for 3 hours But would not want to hire them for high paying jobs nor less have them date your daughters
