FINALLY đđžI was getting worried. It would be nice to get the NCAA Regional That would be HUGE! if my memory serves me correctly, we've already hosted 2 ncaa regionals in the past, at least 1 for sure but i think its been 2 if not more. i'll have to check to be sure...

I know we did at least one. However, it I think it is harder now because then their were 4 regionals now only 2.

We did one. as i suspected, we've already hosted "3" ncaa division 1 east regional meets at aggie stadium. this is what i found online, we hosted in years 2006, 2009, and 2010... ncataggies.com/facilities/irwin-belk-track/5At the successful 2006 NCAA East Track and Field Regional Championship, A&T became the first historically black college or university to host an NCAA Regional and earned rave reviews for its hospitality and professionalism.Irwin Belk Track received numerous accolades for its fast track surface and overall facility. Athletes showed how much they loved the facility as 13 regional records and one college record fell at the 2006 NCAA East Regional. The Aggies also hosted the 2009 and '10 NCAA East Regional. North Carolina A&T athletes have even benefited from the facility. Over the last seven years, 21 Aggie athletes have advanced to the NCAA Nationals and five of those athletes earned All-American honors.

We could probably throw some turf down while we are at it. My neighborhood high school just finished putting turf down last week, then announced yesterday they are postponing football season until the spring.

This would be the ideal time to install field turfgrass because ones that track is complete there should be limited traffic on its delicate surface especially heavy machinery . You don't want to Warp the surface by having the machinery standing in one spot to long .

Right basically we need to reseed with a different type of seed consistent with our growing zone which is Zone 7 off the top of my head. Nitrogen application followed by late season application of potash November/December including lime application and treat new track surface like national security well protected at all times when not in competition use meaning a tarp on the surface.

does anybody know if the new surface will be the "same color" as before? personally, i'd like to see "alternate lanes", one colored navy blue and the other colored gold...

oldschoolaggie The track will be similar in color to the previous one...Lanes will be light blue and the transfer zones are going to be medium blue. The infield will be a Cognac color as seen HERE
