G.M. Ryan Pace out in Chicago as well
Posted by Josh Alper on January 10, 2022, 9:42 AM ESTThe Bears are clearing house after a 6-11 season. Shortly after word of head coach Matt Nagy’s firing broke on Monday morning, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that General Manager Ryan Pace has also been let go in Chicago. Pace was hired by the Bears in 2015 and hired John Fox as the team’s head coach that year. Fox went 14-34 over three seasons and Nagy was hired in 2018. Nagy went 34-31 and made the playoffs twice before being relieved of duty on Monday. Pace made two trades up the draft board to select quarterbacks during his time in Chicago. The first was for Mitchell Trubisky, who is now the backup to Josh Allen in Buffalo, and the second sent the team’s 2022 first-round pick to the Giants in order to get in position to select Justin Fields. The next Bears G.M. will inherit Fields, but their overall bid to improve the roster will be hindered by that missing draft pick. profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/01/10/g-m-ryan-pace-out-in-chicago-as-well/

don't know if this is good for cohen or not. depends on who chicago hires as the new coach and what his offensive philosophy is. nevertheless, certainly cohen should be fully healthy by the start of next season given that he sat out the entire season this year.
i read in one article that he may have had another procedure on his knee which may have delayed him coming back this season. gotta think that the nfl has some of the best doctors/surgeons on the planet for athletic injuries. so hopefully cohen will be as good as new next season...

All the more reasons why he has nothing to prove there; he needs to go where he is appreciated for his physical gifts on the field with a coach that will utilize his uniqueness .

I figured talking like this would begin. I just hope Cohen has rehabbed and is ready to contribute/play for ANY TEAM in the NFL. The Bears have been a mess and have squandered years of many of their players in their prime....

Tarik Cohen Shed Light On Failure To Return In 2021Sports Mockery articleOne of the biggest surprises of the 2021 season had to be Tarik Cohen. The former All-Pro punt return and dynamic Chicago Bears running back suffered a torn ACL in Week 3 of the 2020 season. While an unfortunate setback at the time, most felt he’d be back and ready to go by the start of this past year. Then Cohen missed training camp. Then he landed on the PUP list for the first six weeks. When that deadline came and went, people, started to realize the shocking truth. He wasn’t going to play at all for the entire season.

cohen ain't no "punk". dude is tough as nails. but i can understand him being cautious about his return cuz he's a small rb relative to the nfl and it would probably be easier for him to re-injure his knee because of his size than most other larger rb's.
i mean, ny giants rb saquon barkley (who weighs about 235 lbs) had a similar injury as cohen and he's struggled ever since, missing 7 of the giants last 25 games. i'm pretty sure that cohen is aware of that as well as other nfl players who had similar experiences.
if the bears release cohen, he'll "easily" get another opportunity with another nfl team. he just needs to make sure he's 100% healthy before he returns and also "invests" his earnings "wisely"...

The 🐻 have never had a history of using small RB's or small Backs period. I was hoping that KC would have got The Kid in the draft because of there history with small player use . I'm hoping if he is let go that he lands in KC a team that understands how to use small talented players in their system.

makes me wonder if he's thanking chicago for bringing him this far or whether he's thanking chicago for releasing him...
