I would need to do more research for some specifics but it seems as if even though the MEAC is stil one of the weaker if not weakest D1 basketball conference, it seems as if its very top heavy.
Feels like usually there is a lot more teams that finish around .500 in conference play but this year your either upper echelon 3-4 games above .500 or lower echelon 3-4 games under .500. Right now SCSU could be the only team that finishes at 8-8 but you have 6 teams in the upper and only 4 teams in the lower.
Could just be more parity within the conference which is good and makes for really competitive tourney. Just seems like normally it's usually 2-3 teams heading into March who are clear cut favorites to win tourney title. I like it because you can look forward to good matchups early on the week in Norfolk.
I know its still a lot of basketball to play but the way things are shaping up works out best for the MEAC with, NCAT, NCCU, and NSU in the 1-3 spots. For game atmosphere considerations, the league wants nothing more than for these teams not see each other until semi-final Friday for obvious reasons we all know. Which also guarantees 1 of the big 3 will be playing for the title on Saturday. Nice optics for ESPN2.
My daughter's first dance competition this season is that weekend, but I am making plans to drive down for championship game and driving right back to northern Virginia after the game if our Aggies are in the final. I would probably still have time to see her dance that morning and evening cause those things are all day affairs.
Because that's what Aggies Do

I always expect Howard to play us tough despite their record.

What’s the record for traveling violations in a game? Whatever it was, I’m 100% sure it was broken last night.

The most glaring stat to me remains our anemic FT shooting......17 out of 37......c'mon guys, this is absolutely ridiculous. Such brick masonry will prevent us from winning the MEAC tournament in Norfolk. Folks better hope that we're beating folks by 10-15 points with less than 3-5 minutes left in our tournament games in Norfolk. If not, that FT line will be our kryptonite.

That's the only thing that stands between us and a championship...FREE THROWS!!!! If we can make them, we won't lose, if we do, we will leave the door open for our opponents to be in the game. Because what I realize is, we are the most talented team in the conference and when we are on our game, we will run you out the gym but, when we aren't you can be within 7-10 points of us. But, again, if we aren't making free throws that basically evens the game. So, come on guys, work on those free throws.

The rest of the conference isn't that great at the FT line so we have a fighting chance as awful as we are.
