Eaddy and Dickson got to the finals at the USA Indoor Championships but neither finished higher than 5th. Eaddy ran 6.58/60. I think current aggie Mitchell has a 6.57 PR...Christian (Nike/Tenn) has World record of 6.34 (think that is right). Unless there is someone I don't know about (Durham Aggie may know) there is not a pure 200 meter guy on this team like Rowe last season. Of course Sirleaf-Young -Ross and Stewart run in the high 20s and low 21s

Its funny how no one says stuff like "where are the other HBCU's at?" when it comes to track meets. Our culture isn't effected at all beating PWI's in that sport. Hmmmm?

The Indoor 400 meter Champ last year was from SC State . He beat the guy who beat Stewart outdoors. He didn't qualify run at the outdoors b/c because he was injured at thE MEAC . There are HBCU individuals out there but NO other TEAM ... Just NCAT👍🏾

Hmmmm? and we didn't have to be in the big south or any other pwc conference to do it. did anybody say anything about that? yep, me... Sent from my SM-G950U using proboards

Sent from my SM-G950U using proboards That's because those schools stand on their own merits in the athletics space which is what A&T is trying to ultimately do. The current national status of the track and field program is the envy of every other sports team on campus, other than bowling which is in the nation's top ten. There is no higher NCAA platform for those two sports, period. The path to top ten status in the traditional team sports is more difficult because of the ability to compete against the best competition each week. Both bowling and track can schedule themselves to play the best competition in the nation which affords them the opportunity to get better throughout the season both individually and collectively as well introduce the A&T brand to the best college teams in the nation. Structurally, that path cannot easily be duplicated in other sports.

Sent from my SM-G950U using proboards I'm sure while missing our point that you are trying to make your own, but what we are saying it that it doesn't matter what conference we are in. Track has proven that if you win and excel you will get the respect and national attention that you seek. So save your money and still be nationally known. The same can happen for ALL sports while in the Big South and saving travel expenses. Before Coach Ross all anyone cared about was winning the MEAC in track, but now look at them. They are killing it nationally and it doesn't matter who they are killing it against. If they were just MEAC killing it then our track program would be just another mid major track program. I defend the move so much that people probably think I love it. Naw, I don't love it, but I'm definitely going to always support. I'm not in the administration either, but they haven't steered this ship wrong, so I'll have faith for now that this will work out. Always talking down on the move isn't going to change it. It will only make others not show up to support, not give, and even bash the move themselves. Especially the uninformed. SEVERAL posters here bashed the CB move and look what happened there.

SEVERAL posters here bashed the CB move and look what happened there. the model to succeed in track and field at the d1 level cannot be used in football or basketball. bcs schools do not spend nearly as much money in that sport as they do in football and basketball. coach ross has proven that he doesn't need another conference to excel in his sport, nor does the big south conference offer any more in the sport than the meac does and probably less. point being that we don't need another conference in order to make a statement at the national level. so i may be missing ya'll (whomever that may be) point, but my point is that we don't need another conference to succeed at the national level...
