You probably saying what do I mean. We will not have anymore doubleheader conference games like we do in the MEAC, So the women will be the main heaadlinerW and only game of that night. What are your thoughts?

You will find out the answer to that question on Saturday when they host Central solo.

I know I'm different than most, but this will be telling. If it's a game I can get to reasonably and no other family commits, I'm there. During nonconference seasons, when only the women play some road games, I've driven to Towson, MD from Woodbridge, VA before. Drove down to Richmond (VCU) this season. I honestly just enjoy seeing and supporting the AGGIES when and wherever possible.

If the Lady Aggies play well and win at a high level, I'll make the 1 1/2 hour drive to Club Corbett. But if they turn the ball over a lot, miss open shots and layups, I'll stay home and watch it on the TV.

What are your thoughts? and, if i'm not mistaken, the conference championship tournament is also "separate" from the men. and, my understanding is that both championship tournaments will be a "home-site", earned-seed format with the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds hosting the quarterfinal and semifinal round as part of the double-pod system introduced in 2019. so much for the "joint" men's and women's all teams participate championship tournament experience... bigsouthsports.com/news/2019/8/20/big-south-reveals-2019-20-womens-basketball-schedule.aspx

that helps, but they ought to do the same thing for regular season conference games. its less "efficient" for our men's and women's basketball teams to play separate conference schedules because now they'll have to travel separately rather than save a buck by traveling together...

That is my point, too. The MEAC’s original concept of playing both the men and women’s games on the same day and in the same venue has been a cost cutting measure in itself. Playing two separate schedules for basketball is definitely an increase in expenses for us.

It must not get out that the move to the Big South can actually lead to an INCREASE in some expenses. Such talk like that will get you exiled....

Car A you've had for years and the upkeep costs you $1000 a month
Car B you can get for $500 a month but there'll be six months out of the year you'll have to spend $10 on an item the car requires.
What fool's still driving car A?
Anyways, I think if we and Hampton go in with the MEAC doubleheader model and show how it increases support of the women's bball team and is more cost efficient (if it is indeed more cost efficient)then I would be surprised if the BS didn't do a study.
The MEAC would try to add a school and wait to see what the SWAC wanted to do about it.
If worse comes to worse and they don't find changing their current model feasible, I think they'll be absolutely shocked by the level of support we give our women's bball team. Another area where we can really show Aggie Pride and how we excel.
Go Aggies indeed...

There should be no change in costs unless they were travelling to conference games together. JMHO

Exactly, the men and women travel on their own bus curently, so that doesnt change. They also dont stay in the same hotel room currently, so that doesnt change.
The only thing that does change is when they travel, I would assume that shouldn't be a difference in price.
I find it really interesting that some are searching deep for reasons this move is not warranted. Its almost as if we dont trust our very own BOT to make decisions that are beneficial to this institution. The assessment committee presumably has run through every scenario with access to much more info and resources than any of us on this board. But definitely keep trying because by the time your finished with your research you will have completely validated the accessmemt committee's research and ultimately BOT vote.
Thanks though in advance for your due diligence
