IF YOU'RE GONNA TELL THE STORY, THEN TELL THE ENTIRE STORY. now, let's see if the powers that be will delete or move your post like they do mine since you clearly changed topics...

oleschoolaggie did change his mind and admit he was wrong initially a long time ago. I'll give him that. But then turns right back around and says he is right this time though, LOL. Why does there have to be a right or wrong about leaving the conference? Its all a preference. NO ONE is right. Unless you are talking ONLY about revenue there is no right or wrong.

The interesting thing about this conversation is I read that Deion Sanders has a clause in his contract that gives him a $100K bonus if JSU leaves the SWAC.

I saw that too, he is not going to be happy just being the best HBCU!!! You don’t play at the top level of any sport and be content not being the best.

I saw that too, he is not going to be happy just being the best HBCU!!! You don’t play at the top level of any sport and be content not being the best. Just humor me on this discussion. In football..... 1) Coastal Carolina finished 9th in the FBS (not FCS) final AP poll.....they're in the Sun Belt. 2) Louisiana finished 16th in the final FBS AP poll......they're also in the Sun Belt. Let's move to basketball..... The #1 team in the nation is Gonzaga.....they're in the West Coast Conference. The Sun Belt ain't the SEC in football; the West Coast Conference ain't the PAC-10 in basketball. These schools ain't moving to different conferences to up their brand. They're content in being in their respective conferences and are focused on national prominence......WHERE THEY CURRENTLY ARE. Do I think the Big South has collectively better athletics than the MEAC --- yes I do. Do I believe the Big South will give us more media viewership ---- yes I do. My question still comes down to this ----- will our Big South membership lead to us having a better athletic program, particularly as it concerns our REVENUE-GENERATING SPORTS? How about track and field.....is our nationally-prominent track team gonna get better than it already is by heading to the Big South? I'm just not convinced. I'll continue to support our athletic program, but it bothers me when a school has to conform to the way a new conference does things. A&T has been in the MEAC for 50 years.....to move to the Big South is a huge undertaking. I'm not saying we cannot handle it, but I just don't think it's necessary to improve our brand. If, after 5 years in the Big South, the football team is barely (if at all) in the top 25 of FCS or the basketball team is in the lower half of the league.......are we gonna say, "That's still a good thing because we have more TV exposure?" The conformation process is what bothers me greatly.....we have reached unforeseen heights while capitalizing on our HBCU brand that the MEAC helped cultivate. I'm extremely worried if the Big South is the environment that leads to greater cultivation and further growth of our athletic programs. ....and before anybody says something...I'll say it myself: I MAY END UP BEING WRONG; IF I AM, I HAVE NO PROBLEM SAYING I AM.
I just want A&T to be in an environment that cultivates our growth. I personally have reservations as to whether the Big South will provide that environment for us....

It's been 11 months since the announcement. I am now convinced the relationship with the Big South will be better for A&T if for no other reason than the fact that the Big South conference office has shown that they are a measurably better operational and support mechanism than the MEAC office. The retention of our HBCU branding is up to us not them.

....but will we win more? I hear you from an operational and support standpoint......but will the football team win more because of this? Will the basketball team win more because of this? Will the track team be better because of this?
Winning is what I'm concerned about.....I just don't know if we'll win more in the Big South.
