Hmmm... A MEAC/BIg South divisional setup like this looks interesting
Robert Morris Monmouth Delaware St Morgan St Howard NSU Hampton
A&T Central Gardner-webb Campbell Chuck Southern SC State
Add a south school, or boot a northern school and you might have something here..of course it will be Monmouth vs Us/Scsu in the championship every year tho

this hypothetical conference would not work for Monmouth and end NCAT would leave I know for Monmouth they would defiantly leave saying this because I bin to there games but I hope NCAT and Monmouth play so then I could finally see NCAT play

I don't see a merger.
That's because I see how society is currently set up.
The current divisions certain politicians have helped to stoke means if there was an attempt to merge there would be a few schools who would find reasons to leave that wouldn't be outwardly based on racism, but would definitely based on racism.

Ain't gonna argue with this, too much.

To revisit this thread, my opinion of this move still hinges on the longterm stability of the MEAC.

The only real advantage I see from joining the Big South would be because it's better than being in a conference that is about to implode.
If that said conference doesn't implode, I dont see that many real advantages.

There will probably be some advantages that the avg fan doesn’t see from the outside looking in or even care about. For example, coaches, trainers, and support staff being able to spend more time with their families due to reduced travel, athletes missing less class and being able to spend more time with friends. That time saved reduces stress in families and provides the work life balance we all struggle with in our daily life.
There are no more 3 x 4 day trips during the season for basketball
Or 3 day trips in volleyball
More practice time too, less time on a bus means more time on the court.

If we’re forced to improve our infrastructure due to the move that’s an advantage.
If they choose not to do it, that’s on them.

Yeah, none of those things you listed would, by themselves, make me say the move was a success. Those are all ancillary bonuses.

Again, as a fan you wouldn’t….
The Employees and athletes have a different perspective and would probably say it is a success

Trust me on that. The ones that have been exposed as frauds wouldnt like the move... The opinions of those outside of volleyball arent relevant honestly, football and volleyball are the only sports that have played a complete season.

Why couldn't we just improve our infrastructure without moving conferences? Remember this beauty? We could, but we were successful without having to improve the infrastructure. Now it’s rather apparent that won’t continue unless we make some upgrades. A few good a$$ whuppings we haven’t taken in the MEAC in years should spur improvements.
