Do my eyes deceive me or do we have a defector from hated rival NCCU, seems he was an All MEAXlC DL 6-2, 245. Got to be a grad transfer...
Let the replies begin, GO...

No your eyes did not deceive you. Cox decided to do his best Caylin Newton imitation after the second game last season and announced he would be transferring. Never in a million years did I think he would shed his maroon and gray for the Blue and Gold. He's a good one and vicious. A 3 time All-MEAC defensive end.

Man, they are going to be hitting rather hard this spring. Yikes!

In order for this team to take it to the next level, we need to bring in a QB. Fowler has the potential, I'm just not sold he has the experience to compete at the Liberty and North Dakota State level. I would love to see Caylin Newton in Blue and Gold, a kid who has played well in big games against FBS opponents on the road. You could pencil him in and not miss a beat. He is a better passer and scrambler than Carter and would highly energize this offense. Living in DC and watching this kid play live, the poise, athleticism and production he had on a mediocre Howard football team was obvious. Fowler could be groomed along as well because we should have plenty of opportunities in MEAC platy with the squad we are returning and the players we are bringing in. The QB position will be the major impediment to a great season.

The QB position will be the major impediment to a great season. 1. Caylin isn't graduating until May. 2. Late registration ended last Friday. If a new QB isn't enrolled already... likely not happening for Spring. In watching Caylin play since 2017 and looking at his stats... I'm not so sure that he'll be a better option than Fowler will be in our system. stats.washingtonpost.com/cfb/players.asp?id=276795A 51% passer won't get it done against NDSU. If the Jalen Fowler we saw against BCU blossoms in the Spring, that's a 60% passer with 3 full years in our offense. I think Kingsley Ifedi will have to be playing at a really high level by the end of spring ball to seriously compete for the starting job in the fall. And any FBS transfer you bring in for the fall will be behind Fowler's experience level. So if Fowler's hip is ready to go (haven't heard otherwise) I expect to see some high-level competition at the QB spot this spring.

Really surprised Newton has not landed any where Yet.It would be a nice option with him and Maine in Backfield his only issue is throws to many picks..I think its Fowler Job also we need to bring a Nice Freshmen QB in this year.
