I ask because I'm starting to hear this from trolls and others. All I'll say is that if we have then....good for us! I've said for the longest that if HBCU's are to compete at the highest levels there is almost no choice but to hit the transfer market. We simply can not compete with other D1 programs trying to get quality recruits directly from high school. Of course we have to keep a healthy balance between transfers and high school recruits but so far I think we've done a great job of managing the process.
Also the Transfer portal is changing how everyone recruits. Those who don't understand how to use it to their advantage will be left behind.

As long as the APR is not negatively affected, I don't care where we get talent. We get transfers that support a glaring need. However, DJ reminds me a little of that gut we got from Michigan.... Could get ugly.

One thing I will say about the culture of our football program now as opposed to when we got the transfer from Michigan. The culture now is the players are accountable for one another on and off the field. And it doesn't take long for a new face to take hold to that culture. Look at Martin how he has turned to corner and hasn't looked back, figuratively and literally. So, the success stories outweigh the negative ones with the Broadway tree of coaches. So, I have to believe DJ will be no different.

If LSU can win an FBS title with a transfer QB from Ohio St and if Ohio St can make the FBS playoffs with a transfer QB from Georgia, pardon me if I could care less about what anybody else has to say about us.....

We normally have brought in 4 to 6 FBS/FCS transfers every year since 2017 to fill very specific needs. We really aren't doing anything significantly different under Washington than we did under Broadway except the guys joining us over the last couple of years have not been exclusively "one and done" grad transfers are instead are coming in with 2-3 years of eligibility available to them and with a much larger recruiting profile than we are accustomed to.
Winning at a high level and national exposure will draw those higher grade transfers.

Could get ugly. Wait a minute you are being unfair to Martin. He was and is not a bad kid. He just got caught in an incident beyond his control. After his innocence was established, Coastal Carolina refused to justice by him. He could easily gone off but he did not, rather he kept his eye on the prize. Be careful of this tendency to engage in categorical conversion.

hey, south carolina gamecocks have been a friggin "gold mine" to us over recent years! so as long as we can get at least 2 "quality" seasons from transfers, then i don't have a problem with it...

Transfer portal changed the game. JMU credits their new success to Power 5 transfers, and the conversation included concerns about in fighting and jealousy from recruits, but they are reporting that their kids welcome to competition and have embraced the transfers! FAMU, has added three more this year QB, OT from Auburn, OG from Wake Forest, all portal transfers.

Lol, you got that right! I can't wait to see who we'll poach from them next! I'd love for us to get OT, Jordan Carty. 247sports.com/Player/Jordon-Carty-4663842/
