That is sad if true. We really need all hands on board for such a big game like this. Martin should demand the band to be there. My issue with this team. Whenever we play a pocket QB that can pick up apart. We don't fair well. I am not sure our front four will be able to put enough pressure to rattle him. This is how wild rumors get start...somebody makes a sarcastic joke, somebody else takes it serious and it spreads all over social media. Despite being underfunded, understaffed and lacking adequate scholarship, the BGMM manages to be one of the top marching bands in the nation every year. But all of the band experts and ratings must be wrong because the band doesn't play the songs we like or show up at all the events we think important. Man aint nobody spreading no rumors this a message board you act as though we cannot have a discussion about anything. We are all adults we know 50% of this sheeet on the board is not true. That why I said "That is sad if true" no big deal!!!! DAM!!!!!

So what is an estimate of the cost for the band to go to the game?..... I am sure Dr. Ruff would expect the Chancellor's discretionary funds to underwrite travel costs given the importance attached to the game by BDV. Of course, that is if he can reschedule the "previously scheduled event".

Plans should be in place right now to buy seats for the BGMM if necessary to make sure we have an "Aggie Takeover" in Fargo. Unfortunately, I believe Dr. Ruff already has a recruiting trip or middle school band workshop scheduled that weekend. You're a jerk for that one!

After watching the first quarter of the championship game I have a lot of respect for ND but they are not unbeatable. aaah? ya might wanna ask ndsu's last "37" opponents in a row about that. just sayin'...

Oleschool, please stop before you even get started.
We all remember the doom and gloom you had when it was announced we were gonna face Jacksonville State in 2018.
We dont need that energy in 2020.

We can beat this team they are a excellent team maybe other than Duke the best team we have played in the last 4 years. But we are a excellent team and have a lot of weapons on offense plus a defense that will knock the hell out of you. I am not saying we will win the game but I will say that if we go into the game with the correct game plan and mentality prepared we can win. Let's all plan now to be there to support the AGGIES to victory. if we beat ndsu in fargo, then we ain't got no doggone business playing in no celebration bowl! personally and "honestly", i will be more "shocked" if we beat ndsu in the fargo dome than i was when we beat ecu. i thought we'd lose to ecu, so i've learned my lesson from that. but at the same time, i am a "realist". no fcs team has beaten ndsu in over 3 seasons, so to me the notion that we'll just walk into their "home" dome and do something no other fcs team (much less an hbcu) has done in over 3 years is a bit of a stretch, imo. its easy to look at a team on tv and say we can do this to them or we can do that to them. but jmu is no "pushover" in their own right. ndsu was not playing against a "powder puff". our game against ndsu will be "extraordinarily" difficult for us to win, especially on their home turf. i'm not prepared to rule out an aggie victory because i learned from the ecu experience. but gooosh, beating what's clearly the best fcs team in the country in their own home dome is a heckuva "tall order"...

Why should beating ND State prevent us from getting national TV exposure, a $800,000 check and the honor of being crowned the best team in HBCU football?
I want to beat every school on our schedule next year, including ND State. But I would not be willing to turn my back on a great event like the Celebration Bowl just to seek some outside validation.

I was just posting that!! If we beat NDSU, I still want to go to the Celebration Bowl instead of the FCS Pay-for-Playoffs!!
My only question is this: If we go to Fargo undefeated, leave Fargo undefeated and run-the-table the rest of the season, will voters have the guts to crown us the Top Ranked Team in FCS (without playing in their tournament)??

ndsu plays Oregon Sept 5th and Drake Sept 12th If they beat Oregon I take back everything I said a winning lol lol, "bcs" teams don't wanna, matter fact, "bcs" teams HATE to schedule ndsu anymore because ndsu keeps beating "bcs" teams! no, not "low level" fbs teams like kent state and charlotte. in 2016 before bcs schools stop playing ndsu, ndsu has beat bcs "13th ranked" at the time iowa hawkeyes by 3. let that sink in for a second, bcs "13th ranked". they've also previously beat bcs iowa state 34-14. ad hilton got it right, ndsu is fcs in "name only"...

We dont need that energy in 2020. nope, i "never" had a problem with playing jacksonville state, period. let's not get that misconstrued. the problem i had was playing ecu right after playing jacksonville state, i didn't like the idea of playing that level of competition (top 5 fcs team, legit fbs team) "back to back" on the road. that was my issue. i don't have a problem whatsoever with playing ndsu, never said i did. its a challenge that i welcome, but i ain't gone "under estimate" ndsu as apparently some do. got too much respect for what that program has accomplished "consistently" for over 7 or 8 years in a row. that ain't negativity, instead that's "realism"...

Thanks for informing us on how championships are won OSA...... If we beat NDSU, that doesn't make me desirous to play in the FCS playoffs. It still mystifies me how FCS teams have to pay for home games, round after round after round.....while FBS teams get at least a 6-figure check to play in some of the most meaningless bowl games there are.
When FCS programs start getting paid handsomely in the playoffs, I'd be the first to say DITCH THE CELEBRATION BOWL. Until then, I ain't interested in the FCS playoffs. I was at the Richmond game back in 2016......folks barely showed up - there was no excitement (and I'm talking about the home team).
How can something soooooooooo important draw flies?
By the way, the FCS championship game between JMU and North Dakota State didn't even fill up the 20,500 seat stadium in Frisco,TX. I'm not doubting North Dakota St's greatness......I'm doubting the FCS playoff's significance. There is a difference, which makes me uninterested in being 1 of 24 teams in the playoffs.

Even if ND State vs. JMU was sold out, that doesn't negate the fact that the 2019 Celebration Bowl had one of the greatest atmospheres I have ever been a part of in my life.
First class venue, 32,000 screaming fans and great excitement on and off the field.
I like hanging around other HBCU alumni and listening to other HBCU bands. Our football culture is unique and significant and should be, well ... celebrated.
Different aint always better. And the current FCS playoff scenario definitely is not a better option right now.
