I can't be mad at him. He isn't being paid to be the best speaker when he interviews but, he is being paid to coach. I hope he does the best job he's ever done this week but, I know it's wishful thinking.

Podcast host: Why did you want to travel all the way up to ND to face the mighty Bison? Coach Washington: Because my AD and Chancellor made me.  i haven't listened to the interview, but that sounds like "coaches talk" to me. i know for a "fact" that coach broadway was very keen when it came to understanding the "psychology" of the game. when we only had 29 scholarships under coach broadway, he "seemingly" made that known in every single interview and newspaper article that he participated in and i'm sure he did it for a reason. reason being, your opponent "subconsciously" will take you lightly and let their guard down if they know you only have half as many scholarships as they do. it worked royally against bcu in coach broadway's first season and also worked against app state a year or two later. to this day, brian jenkins still don't know what hit 'em when we upset bcu in aggie stadium even though we were coming off of a "1 win" season. coaches who understand the "psychology" of the game "over praise" or "over credit" their opponent all the time. i'd like to think that coach wash was employing that same tactic when he made the comment that we're making the trip to north dakota because the ad and chancellor made him. but somehow, i'm not so sure that's what he was doing... |

The game plan: Like a prize fight against an 'in his prime' Mike Tyson- survive the early rounds of the first half, tie them up, stay off the ropes (stay out of third and long and then get off the field on third and long), create as much chaos as possible and make this game as sloppy as they come. Just keep hanging around like the crazy ex. Then you have a puncher's chance.
