In 2017, our undefeated season, we averaged 35.1 points per game, 426.8 yards and scored 57 touchdowns. (https://static.meacsports.com/custompages/stats/football/2017/confldrs.htm) This past season, we averaged 38.1 points per game, 442.8 yards and scored 55 touchdowns. (https://static.meacsports.com/custompages/stats/football/2019/confldrs.htm) Barnette was the dedicated quarterbacks coach in 2017. Barnette was the offensive coordinator & quarterback coach in 2019. As you can see, the offensive production during both years is pretty much the same. BT, I don’t care about total stats, you are purposely omitting passing touchdowns to justify your position. If you are going to respond with stats keep them focused on the passing game. There has been a gradual decline in the number of touchdown passes since he has been the OC and QB coach. We had 15 passing touchdowns with all the weapons we have at WR and TE, If that number is acceptable to you then so be it but It’s not to me. 2019 - 15 Passing TDs 2018 - 24 Passing TDS 2017 - 28 Passing TDs This is a trend...facts are facts. I don’t want to hear about a new starting QB because again Alcorn QB threw 30 touchdowns. In 2017 with our run first offense we threw 28 so stop making excuses. Uh, my belief is the rushing TD of Martin (21), single season record by the way attributed to the reduction in passing TDs. Clearly we didnt need to air it out because the ground and pound was so effective, and being that we weren't trailing in many games we ran the ball to kill clock. Yeah, if the last few games are a reflection of what could be than, we may be OK, the message from OC/QB coach is streamlined, may not want to mess with that dynamic.

Could be, or is that our lack of effective passing ga e made us run the ball more?

Who cares if we do it through the air or on the ground? The end goal is to move the ball and get in the endzone. That is the ultimate objective of any offense. gotta agree with this 100%, don't matter whether we score in the air or on the ground as long as we score...

A win over NDSU that's it for me . Facts! Win over NDSU, another trip to Atlanta... reducing the game zone just to the home side of the stadium. Open up A&T football/tailgate family atmosphere to all that desire to be a part of the magic and beauty of game day. (Compromise) Move the band to the endzone. Reduce ticket prices for the away side so you don't have to make a 100k a year to afford the game. But if we just beat NDSU I'll be fine.

my wishlist for 2020 in no particular order;
1. a dangerouis "dual threat" experienced qb who can run as well as kwashaun quick (prior to the acl injury) and pass as well as lamar raynard.
2. field turf!!
3. new track surface in aggie stadium!!
4. i know this is football, but i'll also include other sports. new upper level bleachers in club corbett.
5. finalize ownership of war memorial stadium and finalize all stadium renovations.

My wish, if ain't broke, don't fix it! Adding resources don't hurt because they're still under the control of the HC, OC, or DC.

My wish is an enhancement upon the physicality and mental toughness/warrior mindset--DISCIPLINE. Cut the chatter, trash talking let actions speak. I would like to see a page from yesteryear Aggie football Hornsby Howell when Coach Jefferies coached the defense guys like William Hawk Hargraves. Merle Code Judge Code that is in the secondary. Not to belittle current editions I do not believe that we have had these type DBs. The Hawk footwork imitated Muhammad Ali in the secondary and had that ability to lull the receiver to sleep and would break the pass up. If we get back there part of my wish list will be fulfilled.

I hate to say it, but I think that is just part of our identity now under Coach Washington. Our defensive players were even jaw jacking in the Celebration Bowl and they gave up 44 points. SMH. I honestly expect us to average about one personal foul penalty per game from here on out. Maybe that is just the fuel we need to play at an elite level. But I dont see it changing any time soon.

Well from where I was introduced to football there is a method to end this nonsense. Grass drills, wind sprints, having a player run around the field after a silly mistake in practice or having the entire team do road work will end this foolishness. Perhaps the coaches need to review B.F. Skinner's works relative to learning.

Man ****Something has got to be done to have a new identity. Coach Washington did play in the NFL as did Coach Mattes, so I am not going to question their wisdom dealing with the mindset of these athletes in this cultural realism.But I will say this as a caveat to the coaches and players no disrespect intended but "there comes a time where caution ends and cowardice begins".,; perhaps as a reading assignment the team need to read Sun Tzu's The Art of War in earnest. Who was it Funkadelic Free your mind and your will follow.
