Nichols State was picked 11th out of 13 teams in the Southland Conference.....they're not very good. Nevertheless, they're DI like us. Hopefully the boys can hit their FTs. We're already in the bonus. We do seem to be playing with a good level of intensity.....47-37 us This is not a bad Nicholls squad.  |

I hate using these words, because they are limiting......but we really do have the chance to be "MEAC good."
I really hate using those words....but it's true. I still want to ascend to higher heights in DI basketball, but I gotta be a little patient on this one. Hopefully we can win the MEAC and keep building from there.

This team needed this win in the biggest way from a confidence standpoint. This is for all intent and purposes a young team with guys who have not played a lot of D-1 basketball in a long time. Maye looks legit and quite frankly should run more point late in the game because Langley is an atrocious free throw shooter. Parker looks like he is finally shaking off the rust and developing some confidence. Need to get the big guy Morrice, who is the future, some time so we can build his confidence. Good win against a competitive squad who has played top notch teams on the road to a standstill.

Only 8 players used, but a win is a win. I can see why the rotation got shortened for this one. I'm pretty sure Harry & Shayne will see run against Eastern Michigan on Sunday. They're a bigger squad that wants to be more inside-out. |
