Im still not understanding how GHOE sold out so soon Social media and Jay Walker! Hell the GHOE posts on Facebook started back in July! I think all the frustration with the hotel rooms and concerts tickets has made people fearful of not getting a game ticket. In years past procrastinators could wait until game day to buy their tickets. But all the rumors about sellouts has frightened them to get their tickets early.

Well hopefully they will get rid of the game zone since they already made their money. If we were like all other schools we might have extra tickets if you didn't require a ticket to tailgate. I bet 30% of those tickets will never see or care to see a down of football. #poundforpennystupid The University doesn't care if some folks don't see one play...they have their money. And if they are hanging out at the tailgate area the University is making money off of the sale of tailgate spaces. Sounds like a profitable endeavor.

I also suspect it has something to do with students needing to download digital tickets. I suspect that it took tickets away from the GA pool being that we're "hard capped" at 21,500, despite what Professor and others say. Athletics subjects themselves to fines, I believe, if they go over capacity.

Athletics subjects themselves to fines, I believe, if they go over capacity. That's the dumbest thing I've heard of to date. 21,500 is the seating capacity. Outside venues also should have a SRO capacity that is much higher. And if you count the game zone it should be even higher.

So based on this conversation we can only sell 21,500 tickets and that's it. And does the fire marshal show up and do a headcount on gameday?

Oh by the way, could we set up large screen TVs in Corbett and sell discounted tickets for that on gameday? Not ideal but it could generate some extra funds and some folks wouldn't mind it. The buzzards do that I think.

This is why among a host of other reasons that the game zone is the worst idea. Now some of us have family members, frat brothers, and classmates who have tailgated for years now cant come tailgate or go to the game. Its ridiculous. And I still don't see the point. 3rd qtr they open up the gates to everyone anyway. So what are you supposed to be stopping. Is security different in the morning than the afternoon. Are the "freeloaders" different after 3? I hear all of the arguments for a game zone but no one can tell me how those things change at 3rd qtr. What's the difference that everyone can come in 2hrs later. Again this policy serves no purpose at all. And another way they ruin traditions for no reason at all.

It's a reason all of our sports are doing better and it damn sure ain't alumni donations
