Well said Lamar! But that's the norm around here, my brother. 2017 our undefeated season, we had some folk questioning Coach Broadway...so, that's how it goes. Now, I will say and stand behind it. Coach Barnett has a nice playbook but, as an OC, it takes him too long to get in a rhythm. He calls a good play then, has two bad ones. He has to put more good plays together. But, I don't think any of our coaches should be fired. Defensively, I hope our chemistry is coming because, if not, it will be a long season. But, as a whole, we are fine as team.

Now that's how you make an entrance . Welcome Mr Raynard . I hope that you are not putting most of us in the same car with a few . I will admit that I am some what critical of the OC for his play calling because I felt that he was trying to make Carter mimic you and not focusing on Carter's abilities and skills . But after the CSU game I think that his light came on and he will let Carter be Carter and call plays that can show case and exploit his abilities as a quarterback . Do stick around because I think that your input will be greatly appreciated . Again will come .

It’s sad because y’all are sitting up here debating on switching our starting QB for whatever dumb rass reasons y’all got. Most of Y’all niggas ain’t even played a down of Collegiate football but y’all got the most to say. I ain’t hiding behind no weak rass username like y’all tough guys are doing. This is Lamar Raynard . The best mf quarterback to come thru A&T. Y’all so damn ungrateful is ridiculous. Ain’t sheeet wrong with Kylil or Barnette. This is Kylil first year starting and Barnette first year with a new starting QB In 4 years. Y’all don’t know how to give sheeet time. We 2-1 and y’all up here talking about switching the QB. But y’all the same ones that wanted to bench me after them four games but was begging to take a picture with me after the celebration bowl. Mf Im 35-2 and y’all wanted to bench me. I had the best winning percentage as a Meac QB in Meac history jack. That’s why I’ll never respect y’all dumb rass so called fans. Years ago y’all mfs would have been on y’all knees to get 1 f**k**g win and in the last 4 years we were 41-7 and y’all still ain’t grateful. Y’all niggas think y’all know football and y’all don’t . Y’all got the most sheeet to say behind a f**k**g screen. All of those that’s in the hall of fame please @ me so we can talk. The rest of y’all suckas don’t say sheeet to me. As a moderator I should probably clean up the language on this. But as a fan and fellow Aggie I should probably pin it to the top of the board so people can read it and think about some of the expectations they have of our team before they post. I guess I'll do something in the middle and just welcome number 7 to the board. I ain't changing one word in what he said because he's on point and he said it how it needed to be said.

Yes, but in the future lets all try to refrain from using profanity on this board.
Once again, welcome to the site Mr. Raynard and please don't be a stranger.

Welcome Raynard. Love the perspective and man I enjoyed the ride you gave us.
Fans will be fans though. So don't let it get you too riled up young fella. Its kind of what this board is for. To let old farts talk like they know something. But keep in mind this board has the BIGGEST aggie supporters on the planet on it. Win or Lose. I think everyone on this board loves A&T and the players know matter how much trash they talk. This board goes back over a decade and the same kats have been here giving news, opinions, and yes a lot of bad critiquing. So welcome and I hope you stick around. More EX-players should join the public board.

I’m gonna keep saying it....the win vs Chas Southern is gonna look better and better as the season unfolds. Those dudes were ready to play, and they did not look as if they were playing above their heads. Another thing; they had played Furman and South Carolina week’s prior. I’m not going to concede that Furman is better than us, but South Carolina is. When you factor this in with the fact that this was their first home game, this game had all the recipe for a tough game.
We’ve beaten 2 PWCs in 3 weeks....one was ranked and the other, we beat on the road. No way in hell this is considered the norm for HBCUs. In a way, it’s a good thing that people have such high expectations of our program (as do I). But man, we need to take a step back and realize we are doing things other programs can only fathom of doing.
It’s only September; there’s much more time for this team to grow and improve....but again, we will be doing this with 2 OOC FCS victories already under our belts. This is nothing to scoff at or push the panic button on. I’ve been to all 3 games this year, and I haven’t yet left one being disappointed with the team....

The football aspect of Raynard's post is his opinion and not as relevant as the tone and the delivery. The fact that he was 35-2 as a starter is indicative of him being a good player, as well as, there were a number of damn good football players on that squad (3 of which now play on Sundays) Like him now, we all are fans and these boards generate interest and is a bonding and growing experience for Aggie fans. The critical and more important fact is that this young man expressed himself in a derogatory fashion that should not be endorsed. I got no problem with him expressing his opinion, but it is just that and he can't minimize what fans think because they did not play at the collegiate level. The young man should recant the vulgarity and nastiness of his post because it will live on well past this season and his football career and we as elder statesman should realize that this is bigger than football loyalty and not high-five an ill-conceived emotional post.

Good points. But I'm going to let him edit it if he feels so led.

It's official. Lamar Raynard is the best BDV poster of all-time! That is an all-time classic post and I agree 100% with what was said. It's yet another reason why I love Aggie Football and A&T in general.

I also understand lenman's concerns, but Lamar is a first-time poster and, hopefully, if he continues to post here, I am sure he will understand the overall culture of our board.
Let's just try to keep it civil and continue to share our honest opinions.

actually, i agree with the message of raynard's post (not necessarily the words) and everybody here knows i'm a big carter fan if not his biggest aggie fan. however, sometimes folk just have to have "thick skin" in matters like this. as a high school basketball referee, every year i go thru 2 months of pre-season referee training just prior to the regular season and last night was our first class of the year and wouldn't ya know that the main topic last night was "having thick skin".
of course we officials get called every name in the doggone book even when our calls are 100% correct. but we've gotta have "thick skin" and not "over react" to fan criticism or else it will contaminate the official's calls.
so i know it ain't easy for athletes to accept fan criticism, especially if its "unjustified" and in my opinion, this thread is "unjustified". however, at this level in division 1 sports it "comes with the territory" whether it is justified or not. and the same goes for coaches. so you've just gotta have thick skin.
i think the moderator was correct in pointing out that this qb and oc criticism comes from a very "small minority" of aggie fans. so its not fair to all aggie fans (especially our most "loyal" aggie fans) to paint all aggie fans with the same brush when the criticism is coming from a very "small minority" of aggie fans.
there's probably not a d1 starting qb anywhere in america who at one point in time doesn't get fan criticism. but it doesn't mean that the criticism is true. it is a "FACT" that some fans don't know what da hail they're talkin' bout and that goes for every fanbase in the country, not just aggies. so sometimes you have to understand that and not let the criticism get to ya.
again, i totally 100% disagree with the title of this thread. but as long as it isn't "personal attacks", then the author of this thread has a right to his or her opinion. but let's not paint all aggie fans with that same brush...
