i like how raynard came to his boy'z rescue and rightfully so. Rescued from what?? LOL. Carter doesn't need rescuing. It's a college/fan message board. Athletes (both current and former) need to take that as it is. There are a TON of ill informed folks as well as a few who have played ball and worked in college administration who patrol these sites. The one constant aspect of ALL OF THIS....is that these are just opinions. And I ain't never seen an opinion hurt anyone. And for the record, I support Carter as our starting QB. However, as a fan, if I suggest that the offense seems to be stalling and maybe we should shift the lineup in order to try and jumpstart things, then that opinion hurts no one and its a well known strategy that numerous coaches have utilized in the past. Aggie Nation loves all of our athletes as young Black men and women FIRST. But secondly we also possess the right to have opinions on their efforts on the field of play (no matter how inaccurate or sometimes accurate that they may be). I ain't never been a politician but that don't mean I can't criticize them. I ain't never been a professional chef, but that doesn't mean I can't have an opinion on what is served up. I've said this before and I will say it again, I think it is down right DANGEROUS to live in a society where a counter opinion is viewed as "hating." That reduces peoples ability and willingness to engage in critical thought. So Lamar if you are reading this, don't take the often ridiculous, insane, and sometimes accurate assessments of message board folks personal homie. That's beneath you as the greatest quarterback who's ever played at A&T. Let us fans and Aggies blabber on about whatever it is, and if it pisses you off then weigh in (civilly) with your own comments, or just ignore us altogether. Aggie Pride! coming to his boy'z rescue are "my words". but in reality, that means raynard was doing the exact same thing you're doing, which is "express his opinion". and like you, he has every right to do so. and because he's so "closely attached" to the actual team (unlike most of us), then him being "sensitive" to this issue should be very understandable by us older alums, especially given that he probably doesn't have as much "maturity" as us older alums. i certainly lacked a lot of the maturity that i now have than when i was 23 or 24 years old, and i'm sure you can say the same. now i "personally" like (in my words) that he came to his boy'z rescue because it shows how "unselfish" he is, albeit he did self-proclaim himself the best aggie qb of all time. but he could've just stood back in silence like a lot of other guys who have been replaced by another player would have done and just simply let his replacement take all the heat so that it would make himself look better. so yes, raynard gets to "rant" just like the rest of us do. just because he's young and he's a former player doesn't mean he can't express his own opinion. i wouild've preferred a better choice of words, but nonetheless i certainly do condone the message...
