I am going through the game video right now and I'm amazed at just how many plays these two guys were involved in.
Both dudes were filling the gaps nicely, making the correct reads, and attacking the football all night long.
I'll admit, I was worried going into this game because we were starting two new inside linebackers ... and that Fumbah, in particular, was pretty quiet during spring camp. However, Howard finished with a team-high 10 tackles against Elon and Fumbah recorded five. Both had a tackle for loss.
Together they totally shut down Elon's inside rushing attack. Long story short; I now feel a whole lot better about our inside linebacker positions this year.

That "Upon Further Review" is important after the fact.

How is Fumbah? Didn't he get hurt? Fumbah came back into the game along with Stuckey and Wilder.

Hey Thrilla, what was that quote about Fumbah during training camp? Lol...... Something like "his next good play will be his first one"?

Honestly they missed some tackles, but they came through for the most part. That old immediately to the ball gang-tackling wasn't quite on a par as last year, but why would it be with the number of starters lost? The new crew isn't going to miss too many beats.

That chemistry will continue to build as the team plays more together. We should see them really hitting their stride by the Delaware State game.
