Did anyone happen to notice if Ruiz came out the pileup alright? I immediately thought about the Michigan state kid that injured his hip after being piled on after a game winning TD.

He was interviewed after the game and seemed fine.
If Carter's not turning the laces out that's probably not something Ruiz is going to share during interview time. If we don't see Carter holding next time we'll know what happened.

I thought it was interesting how well our o-line performed vs. how poorly theirs played at times with the knowledge that our o-line coach used to be their o-line coach.

I also give a big shoutout to Korey Banks. He setup the Fg with a big 20 yd punt return. He almost had the game winning catch in the end zone. He is going to make some big plays this year

I believe Davis caused the fumble on that punt return attempt they dropped. I may be wrong though.

This was a high-quality game. We made more penalties than I'd like, but the quality of play was phenomenal by both teams. Another thing I noticed, too.....wasn't a whole bunch of jawjacking. Both teams were locked into the seriousness of the game. It was business-like play on the field.
It was a wonderful night last night for the Aggie brand. The team, the band, the fireworks, the atmosphere.......TOP-NOTCHED!!!
I'm telling you Aggies, it simply doesn't get much better than this. We need to be enjoying every single second of this. No way in the world I could have even fathomed 10 years ago that we would be where we are right now.....just an unbelievable ride that I don't wanna get off of.
Duke....y'all's azzes are on the clock. Aggie Nation will be up in there DEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPP.......and we going up in there to WIN!!

Most of the Defensive penalties fall squarely on an overzealous Stuckey, who had to get his play under control in the 3rd quarter.

coach just picked the wrong time and the wrong game to do that. as i've stated previously, only do it "if game circumstances permit"... Sent from my SM-G950U using proboards And the only time circumstances should permit is in a blowout... i disagree. but i do agree that last night was the wrong time and the wrong game... Sent from my SM-G950U using proboards

After the early series of downs, our defense got rolling. Don't know if that was "first game" jitters or just trying to feel out the opponent. But about halfway through the first quarter, we started getting pressure. I still don't like how soft our DBs played early in the game, as if we wanted them to pass. But the DBs started getting up close and personal with their receivers as the game went on.
As for the offensive line, damn they opened up some major gaps for runners. And Elon's line was big! This early in the season, usually the only way to get those kind of running lanes is with trick plays or miss directions. Hell our offense line was just manning up and moving the defense off the line. Last year it was give the ball to Cartwright and let him blow up someone in the hole. This season, so far it's let the Oline move players around and run like hell for daylight. It was really fun to watch.
And how about our guy Carter. He's one cool dude out there.
