one other thing. i've always figured that one of the reasons that our crowd is not as hyped as some other hbcu's is because we have always had a "lower ratio" of women to men enrolled at a&t than most other hbcu's primarily because our engineering and technical curriculums attract more men. i think women tend to cheer more at the games than the guys...

Women cheer more at football games than guys? absolutely! ever noticed who's doing most of the cheering on the other side when we play wssu or nccu? its certainly not men. maybe its because women have higher pitched voices than guys, i dunno. but i hear women's voices from the opposite side more than men, especially when singing school fight songs...

Mobile phones and complacency have helped kill the atmosphere at our games. At the Celebration Bowl we had twice the crowd of Alcorn yet they were more hype. Things gotta start with the students. Haven't really seen them totally engaged since the 2017 nccu game when they ran out onto the field. They wasnt even live that game, its like they stayed just to do that because they were told to do that for optics. It worked it was great optics but that was it.. We need to probably invest or raise money for the aggie livewires. Too few of them. I would love us to see something like Costal Carolina where they have their student spirit group travel to all games. This incentive might increase their membership. The more of them they have could be a catalyst to get the entire student section live. The only time the Livewires were the thing to do on campus was when Kevin McCluney was working Marketing with Athletics and got the SGA, specifically Darren Brand involved. However, most of the time, no one wants to join them and looks at them like a band of misfits.

The band simply aint' street enough..... They CAN do it. They are just taught not to. They did a band room video a couple of years ago where they were imitating other HBCU bands. They broke out into a go-go beat that was tight and played "Hay", then they said, "Oh, that's not us". Then they played it the A&T way. Hell, I liked the first way better. Bottomline is that the kids can do it if they are instructed to. Ability to do it is not the barrier.

Do we have people on staff that graduated from JSU, Southern and S.C. State or is it only east coast grads. Diversity of though and experiences make the best organizations.

Not sure diversity is the issue as it is a choice in style. We have a pretty talented group with a MEAC, SWAC, and SIAC flavor. The three(3) directors and Chief Arranger are as follows: Dr. Kenneth Ruff - Director of Bands Bachelors and Masters- NCA&T PhD - UNCG Thomas G Warner, Jr. - Assistant Director of Bands Bachelors - Morris Brown Masters - Florida State PhD - UNCG (in progress) Dr. Lamon Lawhorn - Assistant Director of Bands Bachelors - Prairie View Masters - University of Mississippi PhD - UNCG Aaron Campbell - Chief Arranger Bachelors - NCA&T www.ncat.edu/student-affairs/student-services/marching-machine/about/directors.html

In my book the "perfect song" would be "Spirit of the Boogie" by cool and the Gang.
But since cool and the Gang have like zero ties (as far as I know) to Ayantee methinks we should go with the Parkers since they did attend. Or we could go with the "Walk On By" or "Don't Make Me Over" remakes by Sybil since she attended and graduated.
Nah, "Mother Popcorn." "Walk On By" and "Don't Make Me Over" sound like we just lost a game.
