Smash Sumthin' is still a good intro.
Gimme That is still cool because it's based around the U.S.D.A/Jeezy track "Corporate Thuggin". You may not be a Jeezy fan, but we can still toe the line with the Corporate part.
One thing I have never understood about us is why we haven't taken advantage of "Swag Surfin" at our sporting events. Maybe because it's too easy.
Blue & gold glowsticks (or gold towels) would work amazing for this song with night games... or if you had LED lights in Corbett and could shut them on/off without warm-up for starting lineup introductions.
And in case you're wondering... "Smash Sumthin" came out in 2001, Corporate Thuggin" in 2007, and "Swag Surfin" in 2009. So the songs aren't terribly old... yet.

P.S. they need a first down song and a third down stop song and it would be perfect. In order to execute this, the entire band would have to be paying attention to the action on field. A lot of times, the Machine is too busy worrying about sending battle snippets across the field to the opposing band. True that and i suspect these battle snippets is the reason why they wont move to the endzone.

Aye look....the only way you can build tradition is to stick with something and OWN it. We got TWO legit songs that have become signature sounds of the B&G Marching Machine: 1. Smash Something/Middle Finger U 2. Corporate Thuggin (Aggie Pride Chant song) We need to keep these in the rotation. Hell I get goosebumps every time A&T plays Smash Something and there is NOBODY who plays that song.....its OURS. Having said that, we should also get some standard that we ALONE play and once again, OWN it. Three of my favorite examples of this are: 1. FAMU (Say La La) www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8V6bqwLPXw2. Southern (Do Watcha Wanna) www.youtube.com/watch?v=btMqLlCBZdU&t=115s3. Jackson State (Get Ready) www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3DL7O9ifcoThis last one is my FAVORITE black college band tradition of ALL TIME. You know how they got to that status? They perfected it and NEVER changed it. The HBCU football season in Jackson don't start till The Sonic Boom of the South crank Get Ready.

I guess thats why they say going to away games as an aggie fan is a legit joy. The atmosphere at other stadiums can make ya downright jealous. We already have the crowd, we have to prioritize/invest in the atmosphere. Some new/quality speakers. Need a new hype song/tradition/chant. I will note.... SCSU's placement of their band where the younger crowd is around them on both sides.... CLUTCH.
NCCU - Rift #2
SCSU - (Everyone knows Pass The Peas/Get Up for the Bulldogs) HELLO
WSSU - Get Up

It seems like our song selections are about the musicality and technical aspects and not ones that touch my soul as a black person. I hear our songs and I’m like damn that was played really well, they don’t make me want to get out my seat. We definitely need an easy soulful chant.
I really can’t explain the difference outside of the term soulful 🤷🏾♂️.
Banning the bells pissed me off, did the school or MEaC ban the cowbells?

To me it's simple. Who doesn't move when they hear a James Brown groove? We have two alumni that played in James Brown's band in Maceo and Melvin Parker. bluedeathvalley.proboards.com/thread/14827/honor-maceo-parkerPick a song they played on that no other band really does but gets the crowd hyped, follow Freeze's blueprint, and we done.

Perfect plan, can one of the former band members provide the recommendation to someone that could make it happen🤷🏾♂️

The band simply aint' street enough..... Didn't they use to play Rick James "Give It to Me Baby" recently? I don't care if music was made last night or last century......the folks in the stand know what hits and what doesn't. Our halftime performances have been great!! We just gotta work on our "in-the-stands" music...get it more hood up in there!!

Mobile phones and complacency have helped kill the atmosphere at our games. At the Celebration Bowl we had twice the crowd of Alcorn yet they were more hype.
Things gotta start with the students. Haven't really seen them totally engaged since the 2017 nccu game when they ran out onto the field.

Haven't really seen them totally engaged since the 2017 nccu game when they ran out onto the field. They wasnt even live that game, its like they stayed just to do that because they were told to do that for optics. It worked it was great optics but that was it.. We need to probably invest or raise money for the aggie livewires. Too few of them. I would love us to see something like Costal Carolina where they have their student spirit group travel to all games. This incentive might increase their membership. The more of them they have could be a catalyst to get the entire student section live.

we became a wine and cheese crowd when we priced out our local community... Sent from my SM-G950U using proboards correction: we’ve been a wine and cheese crowd since I was a kid. well, our crowd has had our moments occasioinally. we've had some games in the distant past when our crowd was "very vocal", such as the 1999 home game against famu. not so much having a traditional fight song, but as far as our crowd "being engaged" in essentially every play of the game, that game was one of them. i also remember the scsu game during my freshman year at "t" in '75, that game was played at memorial stadium before a "sellout" crowd and we "upset" the bulldawgs in that game. that was one of the "loudest" aggie crowds (aside from 1999 famu) that i've ever heard. memorial stadium was so loud that day, that i believe all of greensboro heard us in the 4th quarter. heck, it really must've upset scsu too cuz after they loss that game, they went on to beat us what felt like 10 years in a row before we even "remotely" came close to beating them again...
