Get rid of the wall, cage and barrier from Aggie football and you will see the culture grow just like it was before arguably the worst marketing decision in the history of sports was made by adding a game zone.
Make affordale seats available on the opposite side (our ticket price strategy is primitive and ancient)
There's a ton of things you can do but if you're not creating culture you're not doing anything

Smh, at all these gimmicks. How about a winning football program and a good band? Oh yeah, we already have that.

There have been some good points made within this post. It made me think, that "if we are the largest HBCU and have been winning, then we really need to make our home an event like GHOE Saturday in the stadium, with a soundstage ect. I miss the merchandise Vendors. Heck, move them to the Business school Quad.

I agree 100% I like the idea of making people buy a GA ticket to enter the gates. Now, if folks wanna make GA tickets $5 - $10 cheaper for most home games, have at it. However, I trust our AD has looked at pricing models.

....this ain't the Mexico/USA border discussion we're having. If the wall comes down, there will be people freeloading around the stadium......NOT BUYING A DAMN THING AND USING A&T'S RESOURCES. I love seeing hordes of people around the stadium.....but what are they contributing financially to the athletic program???
.....I have no problem charging folks $5-10 to enter stadium grounds without actually going into the game. You ain't just gonna freeload off of the Aggie environment and not contribute financially to what the Aggie game day experience is providing.

The students are gonna congregate around the band....that's a given. Now if there's a televised game and they're constantly having the camera show the visitor side, then we need to move the band TO THAT SIDE......the students will follow.
If you look at our home schedule this year, we got: Elon Del St Howard Bethune-Cookman NCCU
Outside of Del St, there's no way in the world those other games should draw less than 15-16,000 fans. If they do, then you have to question who's in marketing and whether a change is necessary.
Absolutely no way 4 of these 5 games should have a paltry attendance, barring serious weather conditions....

This might not be mexico border situation but your remarks are exactly the same as what Trump says about immigrants 💯.. For those of you have this free loading argument - have you ever heard of Fixed Costs.. the resources provided by the school is the same regardless. Halt the potential of thousands worrying about the few.. I'm sorry that does not make sense. But I got a great compromise.. if you want a game zone keep it on the home side for those who want to eat their hot dogs without the public.. make it a vip exclusive tailgate extraganza .. but make it public on the visitor side.. charge per car like it's done at almost every school that collects revenue for this event... It will pay for those port o potties and trash bags we are so concerned about. And then we can start to build a culture that has this community supporting Aggie football for generations.

That's why I prefaced my comment by stating "this ain't the Mexico/USA border discussion we're having." I didn't want my words to equate to the border wall issues. I'm talking about athletics --- I'm by no means talking about what's going on at the border..... Halt the thousands worrying about the few.......what are those thousands contributing??? I'm sorry if it doesn't make sense to you......but I don't believe in A&T providing services for free. I don't think it's asking too much for anyone to shell out $5 to get on stadium premises.....I just don't. And when somebody pays $5 to get in, they can go anywhere on stadium grounds as they please......JUST NOT IN THE STADIUM. Everybody who sets ground on stadium property on a game day.....NEEDS TO BE A CONTRIBUTOR IN SOME FORM!

I miss the merchandise Vendors. Heck, move them to the Business school Quad. The real question is what comes first...the fans or the fan activities? I agree with your idea to make every game more of a "happing" like GHOE but we need to get fans to show up first. We've proven that a winning football team and amazing marching band doesn't guarantee that fans will show up. We've got to do a better job promoting our product in the Greensboro community.

We can make a long list of possible reasons we don't sell out more home games...the fan zone, limited convenient parking, inadequate concessions, the weather, uncomfortable seating, inadequate restrooms, etc... But to me the high price of our tickets tops all these reasons. Why pay that much for a football ticket when a movie ticket is half the cost? Plus, they know what to expect at a movie. They have no clue what to expect at an A&T game.
We've got to find a way to entice more non Aggies to sample our football experience. Until we figure that out we are wasting our time debating the other problems.

Please explain exactly how our GameZone impedes thousands of fans from getting tickets. Are the POPs for tickets somehow blocked??
I understand your assertation that tickets are priced too high (keep in mind that our costs of putting on games are not going down)...but that has absolutely nothing to do with the GameZone.

Football is a culture. I know there are those who believe that people will come for football but thats just not true. It's the atmosphere that builds crowds. Now there are no bigger ambassadors to Aggie football than those who are locked in that cage. You have locked out the potential game goers to people on the street selling t shirts and the occasional youth organization selling fish to raise money.
What you guys are not seeing about "freeloaders" are that they are the highest potential game goer. We should all be looking for "freeloaders" and bring them to the tailgate. Being apart of the culture. What do you care that they eat a hot dog that I paid for. As a former freeloader I absolutely hate that I can't introduce Aggie football like it was introduced to me. It had nothing to do with football. It was the tailgate. It was family friends and all that. Aggie football naturally happens through that process. I could bring 10 more people to the tailgate easy. 3-4 of them will end up going to games in one year 5/6 will become regular game goers within the next 3 years. So while you guys are worried about the few that won't buy tickets, you should switch your focus on how to make these people game goers This is the best way to build sustainable crowds. Generations! Culture! That's the name of this game, you don't build thousands of fans over night.
Not only the marketing aspect of this is a complete dissaster but it's rass backwards to operate like this as black institution. The greatest capacity for black people are inside that wall. You have teachers, doctors, nurses, accountants, engineer's all inside that wall. There are a lot of "freeloaders" that need to see that. Need to have access to that. And we say nope u didn't pay to pee here. As usual we worry about the wrong things. Thats why we as people struggle now .. mindsets like that.
Walls do exactly what they are meant to do and that's keep people out. We've had 6 pages of posts on how to fix this and it's one simple answer. Embrace your "freeloaders" aka as the community let us be the ambassadors and #teardownthatwall
