That is a shame. You'd hate to miss out on a kid with that much talent who actually wanted to play here. Maybe there could be hope in a track scholarship coming or something, and then him playing football on the side. A long shot, i know.

I know this isn’t 2021, but it seems as though we’re still shooting our shots with the big time recruits. Four-star from Rocky Mount, knows a lot of guys on our team currently.

Leslie, Banks and Hunt, to name a few. I wonder if the kid could come here as a preferred walk-on this year and then get a scholly next season.

BTW: That's a damn good job, aggiefootballfanatic, with doing all that detective work.

So the players who we have offered that haven't signed anywhere yet: AJ Hicks RB Nick Wilds-Lawing QB KJ Leslie WR JaQuari Wiggles DE Robert Scott DE/OLB Jadyn Bost DE Joshua Presna DL Trevor Willard DE Big Country OL Ty Williams Safety Andrew Brown K I believe the kids on offense and the Kicker are very warm on us, in addition to the safety from Michigan. However, I’m hopeful we have at least two of the DLinemen sign. That would be amazing! i want the qb, wilds-lawing! Sent from my SM-G950U using proboards

We had a similar situation with a kid from Detroit last year. He was an RB that we gave a PWO to. He was told something similar and ended up taking a D2 scholarship at Central State. It's a tricky situation for out of state kids for us. with the increased interest from Transfer Portal kids, we will encounter stories like this. It's the process of building recruiting pipelines. That got our staff's attention and as a result, we spent time in Michigan and thusly offering a kid from Detroit. Either way, if he loves A&T, he can always enroll this fall on his own and then walk on in 2021. As long as he keeps his grades up, he can get scholarships from other sources until he earns that full scholarship, especially if he can land in the honor's program.

I would advise him to take the best offer available even if is a D-2 offer first and foremost . If his numbers are good from his freshman or sophomore seasons then Enter the transfer portal . Transferring up to D-1 he would be eligible to play right away . I would not advise any out of state player to except a preferred walk-on offer even if is from A&T . This kid deserves a scholarship not a promise of 1 .

We are really all over the state now. Currituck is near where I'm from deep in the northeast part of the state. A lot of untapped talent in that part of the state.

Do not think you can transfer up and be eligible immediately... only down

I don’t know how Nick Wild-Lawing doesn’t at least have some more NC FCS offers. It looks like no one touched him but d2 programs. His numbers look great to me, but maybe I’m missing something on the film. A couple of our targets have no other d1 interest but all the intangibles and stats. I guess more for us though.
