EXCITINGL.... LOL my question is could this overall promotion be outsourced. Turn it over to one of the local Alumni Associations. Yes it could but... - I don't think the University trust "outsiders" to run University events - I'm not sure the "local Alumni Associations" has the expertise to facilitate this event A&T will never have the funds and staffing to organize and conduct events like this but I doubt it will every outsource to Alumni.

i drove down for one of our spring games about 3 or 4 years ago and i'll be honest, i was completely "turned off" by the brown grass in aggie stadium. i'm sorry, but that brown grass is a flatout "eyesore" to me. made it hard for me to enjoy the spring game. nonetheless, i agree with thrilla. perhaps we don't need to have an itinerary for our spring game that's as elaborate as tennessee state's, but we could at least add 2 or 3 more events to go along with the spring game. for example, why not piggy back the spring game with an aggie baseball game or track meet? and prior to the game, promote "pregame" tailgating. i don't think it has to be the next coming of ghoe, but something relatively small that complements the game and encourages more folks to come out would suffice... I've been to two spring games and they were total "cluster-f*cks!" They were not designed for the fans or alumni...they were designed purely for the coaching staff. And like you, I was totally disappointed. Hey let's face it...die-hard Aggies show up for the spring game...these are the people that would drive hours to attend a meaniless sporting event. The Athletic Department and University should find a way to make it a special event for those fans.

We're an ag school and don't know much about marketing and event planning. Don't ever expect to see anything this elaborate at A&T. I love my University but I've given up on us being good at marketing ourselves. My whole point was we are rarely proactive in marketing what we have. I know we have GHOE (Greatest Homecoming on Earth) that's a major brand but the alumni created that experience long before the University figured out that it was something to market. Even the "GHOE" brand wasn't created by the University. I just wished our Administration understood how to utilize various events and organizations to better promote the University. Hey, don't get me wrong... if given a choice between building the premier HBCU in America vs. promoting a bunch of well organized campus events, I'll take the former. But I sometimes think we miss some key marketing and branding opportunities. We've got a lot to be proud and I just hate it that the world doesn't know that. We've done so much with so much less and I think that's a message that our community should experience. Every time a young person comes on our campus for any event, I want them to see and experience Aggie Pride. By the way, every time an alumni member attends a well planned University event, that solidifies their relationship with the University. And hopefully that relationship will encourage them to support the University with their contributions. Just goes to show we're not the full package.................yet

I think it’s time we seriously address this issue , our Athletics prowess is running far ahead of the support system, Track, Baseball, Football, Bowling, Golf all have footprints outside the Conference and have established us as a University to watch, this window is not forever, pulling back or stalling is a risk because we are not prepared for the Growth, TSU is a HBCU, are we so arrogant or prideful that we can’t ask for help or ideas. We need a effort to lay solid platforms or foundations for the growth which is outrunning the foundation. There is a threat of complacency with us.
