Randy Gregory without the off-field issues.... Let's also not forget Jason Taylor, a 3rd-round from Ohio University who never played above 245 lbs. He did pretty well for himself.

DJ will be just fine. He learned from the best DL coach in Broadway on gap assignment and technique, which he will have to use to win his one-on-ones anyway. He was never a bull rusher. He won with speed off the line and technique to rush the passer. All NFL teams are looking for these type of edge rushers. His size is good enough to succeed.

My only regret is that he never really developed a counter move while he was here.
Even Sam Blue added a Dwight Freeney type spin move to his arsenal this past year.
Thus far, DJ primarily just has the Linda Ronstadt first step: aka "Blew By You".

I feel that he will end up being a LB in the end . Hmmm...a lot like former SCSU star DE-turned-LB Harry Carson??

You're probably alone saab. Would you have put Jason Taylor at lb? In some schemes Jason Taylor did play linebacker . To be truthful Jason was one of the first hybrid down lineman linebackers . So Yes I would use him at both .

A&T football star Darryl Johnson declares for early entry in NFL draft
By Jeff Mills jeff.mills@greensboro.com Jan 15, 2019GREENSBORO — It looks like N.C. A&T's football program has lost its best defensive player a year ahead of schedule. Darryl Johnson, a redshirt junior defensive end, has announced on social media that he has decided to enter the NFL draft. “I would like to thank (N.C. A&T) for all the great memories,” Johnson posted on his @4zerobam Instagram account on Sunday. “… As I venture out to my new journey in the NFL, I want to acknowledge and pause and say thank you God for the talent and blessings you have given to me.” The announcement caught A&T’s coaching staff and administration off guard. “It’s not something we had anticipated,” A&T athletics director Earl Hilton said, “but it’s not completely unexpected, either, given the opportunities that are available to players as gifted as him.” It’s unclear whether Johnson has hired an agent. Attempts to reach the player were unsuccessful. If he has not, then he could still return to A&T for his final year of eligibility under NCAA bylaw exception 12.2.4.2.4. The rule allows football players to enter the NFL draft one time during their college careers without losing eligibility if they are not selected. It provides a 72-hour grace period after the NFL draft in which undrafted players who have not hired agents can declare their intentions to return to school. If Johnson has signed with an agent, however, his amateur status is lost and he cannot return. Man, one thing you can say about our coaching staff is that they know how to develop raw talent: that's why its so important to keep our coaching staff intact as much as possible. glad gibbs didn't bolt...
