Chris McNeil was an outside linebacker playing at DE.
DJ is 6'5 and will probably add 20 more pounds to his frame in the next year or so.
I would assume he has been told that he is projecting to be a third round pick or higher.
This is a no-brainer.

Bam leaving early all but guarantees that A&T has players get drafted in 3 consecutive years following Tarik & Brandon
Combine that with Darius Leonard/Javon Hargrave from SCSU and Ryan Smith from NCCU... and you have a significant resurgence in MEAC draftees over the past 5 drafts.
It's a special time.

Is DJ the first HBCU underclassman to declare early? Chris Baker from Hampton (via Penn St) declared early for the 2009 NFL Draft, but went undrafted. I don't know of a I-AA/FCS player that has ever declared early and gotten drafted. So odds are that Bam is about to make FCS history. |
