A safety is generally not faster than a corner and does not have the same man-to-man coverage skills. A safety is considered the "last line of defense" but he is not the fastest guy in the backfield. He just lines up deeper and has different coverage responsibilities. I gotta agree with thrilla. CBs are generally faster than safety. yep...

Sounds crazy, but a lot of times recruiting simply comes downs to the relationships college coaches may have with high school coaches. Can't remember the last time we have signed a kid from Page. And they always have as much speed and talent as Dudley. The relationship between A&T and Page , Grimsley and Smith I've always been lukewarm when it comes to recruiting their players . although there have been a number of players from Page , Smith and Grimsley to be quite successful at A&T . It is what it is SMIB .

Don't worry: these guys didn't see the Page game either. They just looked at the final score and decided Monroe played poorly. I covered Page several times this year and their QB had a knack for scrambling outside the pocket, straddling the line of scrimmage and then finding a open receiver down field once the play broke down. Almost all of Page's big pass plays in that game came on busted plays where it looked like the QB was gonna scramble. One of their long touchdowns came on a trick pass play from the wide receiver on a jet sweep. That is one game that I never miss Page and Dudley . I have only missed 3 games between Page & Dudley . You were correct Pages QB had a way of keeping the play alive with his scrambling . But what I saw in the 3 & 4 quarter was receivers getting separation before the quarterback scrambled . If your a CB on the island your job is to stay with that receiver and stay deep if you leave the receiver to soon yes its going to look like you got burnt . The kid has talent and with good coaching he could become and even bigger talent . Let's hope Washington's people are doing there due diligence .

The thing about discussing football in this day and age is that it is easy to find visual evidence.
Monroe is No. 14 is this video and you also see him playing QB. You can see up close and personal just how big and athletic he is.
BTW: No. 4 for Dudley was the kid getting torched on those pass plays, not No. 14.
Monroe is seen coming from the other side of the field trying to help out on those plays.

BTW: Here is footage from that infamous SE Guilford playoff game that some of you clowns referenced.
Just look at his size and ball skills and tell me again how he is not worthy of a scholarship.

It's about getting A&T to get off there butt's and offer the kid . I don't know what the problem is with there on back yard . I'm willing to bet that if this was still Charlotte athletes A&T would have offered him by now . We will see in February what is what . Do not forget that NCCU , SCSU , HOWARD , NSU are looking also , let us not think that they are not already in our backyard .

LOL... that's the same play on his Hudl highlight tape at the 0:45 mark. Monroe is talented. But there are variables to recruiting at our level. 1. The other talent we've offered 2. Position priority 3. The scholarship split amongst the returning players. I was floored earlier when a tweet went out in August 2018 about OT Dontae Keys getting a full ride. Keys was a 2017 signee. I was under the impression that a recruit of his priority at a premium position would have been on full out the gate.... but that wasn't the case. It's the challenge of fielding an 85-man roster with 63 scholarships and appropriately rewarding your returning players. If Monroe is getting an offer from Kent, it's a full ride. He may be guaranteed more PT at a FCS school... but maybe not the full ride out the gate. And unless you have the full picture of what our staff is working with... it's near impossible to say that Monroe is so much better than your other offers that he's getting the full offer that may go to a more priority player.

Kenney Solomon is from SC and has already committed to UCF. I am talking about a Greensboro kid who actually wants to play here.

If he really wants to stay home and play for A&T, he'll make the necessary sacrifice to do so!

What sacrifice can he make? Break into the A&T football office and give himself a scholarship?

I don't really want to beat up on the young man but I've seen him play for four years. He is overrated as a db. He is not a D1 talent size yes but talent no. He is on a lot of WR highlight tapes. He also doesn't tackle well. I won't go into things that happen his junior season that point to his mental make up. There is a reason why we aren't going to offer him. Give me DJ Carson from VTech a former Dudley player.
