I haven’t been in that stadium since 1986 (I think), and I battle myself as to ever go back. However I did go to some of the neutral settings games, but up until ESPN3 I was strictly radio when it came to them. I use to wish that we dropped them completely, but I do like the fact that they’re close and it’s possible for us to fill up our stadium. The kind of stuff that they did during the whole game last year was the last straw for me and pushed me very close to the hate zone. I remember that game in 86.. I was 9 or 10 and begged my parents to take me to an away game. I remember it being extremely cold, I remember we had more fans than they did so much the band played halftime to our side instead of home side, I remember the band playing "There be Sad Songs" by Billy Ocean. I never heard anything better. I remember at the end of the game the crowd yelling N C double A N C double A... We won and had an even colder game at App State for playoffs. I would not know because my parents didn't let me go. I'm still mad at them about that. WOW! I didn’t remember that much, but I do remember the cold rainy (sometimes very hard) day, and the extreme rude obnoxious crowd of people that we walked through going to our seats. Also one of their players was ejected, and as he was trying to fight fell face down into the mud more than once... that cat was hot, that he couldn’t get his hands on whoever he was after.

I remember Allen Hooker having a field day on Central in the mud in '86. But, we should win this game soundly, if we can stay away from the dead ball penalties.

We need to play smart and Disciplined football. NCCU is almost last in run defense and pass defense. Barnette needs to call a good game on offense.

We are probably going to set an all-time record for penalties this week.
Washington acknowledged in today's press conference that passions will be high on Saturday for both squads ... and the football social media crew released a video earlier today of the pregame fight from last year.
That tweet has since been deleted, but it already seems like folks around here are preparing for the worse.

Yeah, as soon as I thought that tweet I thought it was put up in bad taste. Glad it was deleted, but the mindset is there.

The yellow laundry will be littering the field all day Saturday.

I'm sorry but I just can't go on that campus. I'm too old to fight and if we lose and some buzzard fan talks too much trash, I'll have to deck him. i swear, that's happened to me before after we'd loss in durham. on my way back to my truck, i was so "stoned faced", the expression on my face was "don't fyck with me"! i mean, i was already pissed!! so last thing i needed was for one of them buzzards to talk trash to me...

I have a feeling that Cartwright is going to go off! I would love to see a complete game . Martin, Bell, the kickoff returner, the place kicker, the D Line... Man...it’s down to this!

My dad was a coach at NCCU at the time. I was on their sideline and in the locker room watching them b*tch and cry as an 11 year old kid. I was like damn, they beat y'all azz and their band was nice. Where they at? LOL And it was muddy as hell on that sideline. I think I had to throw my tennis shoes away after that game

I would like to say that our stars will go off on their turf. But it has never really happens. For some reason idk if the game or crowd that gets in their heads, it's always a struggle roll past Central in their snackbox.

I don't care how much more talent we have, NCCU will play us tough. I think our players are a lot like us Aggie fans...we really want to kick their butts and shut them up. Unfortunately, that's exactly what they want to do also. So I'm holding my breath until we win and get the hell out of Buzzardland!

So real talk, are both teams concerned about the potential fights that can erupt before and during the game?
Last year, multiple players were kicked out before the game even started and A&T had 14 penalties alone! I’m not saying change up who we are but we can ill-afford to lose anyone from a playoff game or Celebration Bowl game due to being unable to control their chaos and anger.

In my opinion regardless the potential for penalties and pre-game fights, NCCU's former coach was a hot head and a trash talker IMO. His players were a direct reflection of who he was and what HE allowed. Their current coach emphasized having more discipline during his introductory press conference as new coach, and that's what I expect from them.
However, if WE go into their stadium with the hot heads, it would not surprise me to see them cut lose.
NCCU's post season hopes are done and NCAT has more to lose than NCCU. It would be mature and wise for our coaches and senior captains to lead this NCAT team, keep their composure and win this game.
Otherwise, NCCU would have won the superbowl if they prevent us from winning another championship on their field by getting under our skin.
Players (and coaches) it's not worth it!
