The only thing our "prevent defense" prevents is us stopping their offense.

That does it. We need to begin a coach’s search. I am usually very patient but I have seen this before. REALLY? A 1st Year Coach 8-2 this point of the season.

As crappy as we've been in the second half today, we have some real positives. Ruiz has made all his extra points today. We controlled a scrambling qb. Carter was accurate enough to keep them honest (though he didn't always get help from his receiving corps) and his mobility helped him make plays and got us yards. We were close to having three 100 yard rushers even though SSU totally expected us to be very run-heavy. And we had very few penalties!

So here's how it works: You go into the half up pretty good. Coach's attitude is "let's get out of here with a win" as opposed to "we need to really put the pedal to the medal and put these guys completely away." You come out from the locker room with that attitude. Then it's very difficult to impossible to pick the intensity back up. That's been plaguing us most of the season. I do not think that coach Washington say that to his players I think he said this "we need to really put the pedal to the medal and put these guys completely away." . The D is just losing focus again !!

If it's some of the same errors that have been made in the past, then it's on the coach.
Now the fumbles definitely aren't on him. Those are losses of focus on the players. But as I noted above they play to me like he has a relaxed attitude when we go into the half with a lead (and again, attitude doesn't mean he says to relax out loud). If you're not laser-focused these mistakes are going to happen.

I just noticed. Did we even have a "pick the score" this week?
I pick us 28-12. I say Carter will pass for 53 yards but run for 93.

If you remember Coach Smalls won the championship his first year but the undisciplined play could be seen that year. I’m saying to give him another year before we move but to identify a coach now before we self distruct.

I don't like how we've played this year but I think we definitely need to hold on to coach Washington. Going 8-2 in his first year is great. I'm hoping he takes the off season to work on his coaching skills. Oh and find another offensive coordinator!
I'm sure he learned a lot this year and hope he gets better next season. But check around and name a first year coach that has done better.
P.S. If we get embarrassed by NCCU next week and lose by big numbers, forget everything I said and fire him on the field! Lol

Lol I think we won from being more talented but I saw the team digress from a disciplined point of view. I would not be surprised to see us lose because of lack of discipline next week. It will be an emotional game and I’m not sure we can do what’s necessary to win a game like that.
