Coach Simmons outcoached Washington. Simmons found a way to open up that A&T defense in the 2nd half. He found a way to get some sort of rushing attack going. A&T has the D-line we’ve faced. Simmons figured out how to get some positive runs in the 2nd half. I think we had 0 rushing yards late in the 2nd quarter. Once Simmons figured out how to break that A&T defnese, and Stanley figured out how to attack those DBs,we started moving the ball a little easier. I don’t even think we punted in the 2nd half. FAMU also kept A&T from running the ball effectively...once we made A&T one dimensional on offense, keeping you off the scoreboard became fairly easy. Yes A&T made mistakes, but FAMU came out focused on the 2nd half and executed where A&T couldn’t. Also, in regards to penalties, I told you guys during the Jax St. game that those unsportsmanlike conduct penalties would come back to bite you...and it did today. Go back and look at the game...A&T’s players had something to say after every play. Surprisingly, there were times where our players didn’t respond...and everybody knows about FAMU’s problem with penalties this season. Washington has an undisciplined team...and that’s something you wouldn’t have seen under Broadway. I appreciate ur outside perspective! Based on what you have see do you think Washington is the answer? I think NCA&T’s OC leaving just before Fall camp is a bigger issue than initially believed. Your defense is good enough to win you some ball games...under Washington, I don’t think defense will be a problem. Offensively, something is off.

I’m putting this loss a little more on the players’ backs than the coaches:
>FOUR dropped interceptions. C’mon, now!! >TWO dropped (potential) touchdown passes! >Passes thrown behind receivers; >Not being able to make a tackle after Cartwright was stripped; >Several needless personal fouls (unsportsmanlike, taunting, etc.);
That’s our “L” right there. (I’m not including Cartwright’s fumble because that is going to happen every Blue Moon.)
After the six quarters of bad football that we played against Morgan State and South Carolina State, I thought that the players would never put themselves behind the 8-Ball like that again this season. I was wrong.
I’m not writing this season off on October 14th...but we’re in a “Win-Out-&-Pray” situation now, folks. It’s Rampage & Pillage Time.

I'm not writing this season off either but I am more realistic about our teams chances the rest of the season. I hope we finish the rest of the season strong but I wouldn't be surprised if we lose a couple more games.

We did not play our best today as far as making clutch plays ie dropped critical passes, missed interception opportunities, poor tackling, no running game, poor play calling, penalties and etc.
We are suppose to be a top 10 team but we are not because of the reasons mentioned and suspect coaching.
We all know our field goal kicker is suspect. Why in hell did we try a field goal we know he would probably miss instead of going for a short first down.
If you don't make it you in same spot as a missed field goal. Did this same dumb thing in a past game.
Coach Washington in order to remain in the future a top 10 program needs to:
1. Hire a real deal OC with experience and imagination.
2. Hire a real deal Defensive Coordinator with the same intangibles as the OC.
3. Recruit a bonafide field goal kicker whether he's black, white, hispanic, asian or alien. Got to find one and promise him the moon legal or illegal.
4. Recruit a qb that can do it all.
I can name some mo things but tired or writing. Hate to be negative but the truth is the truth.
Damn!!

My mans was kicking into the wind at that🤷🏾♂️

New coach. All of us struggle or struggled in our first year on a job. The more experience we gained the more we learned. Coach Washington is still learning his new craft.
However, he does need to find exceptional kickers. He needs to find a field goal kicker badd because the 2 games we have lost the kicking game was a major part of it.
I know there is a kicker somewhere that can kick the kickoff in or out of the end zone. I have not seen that done all year.
We need a change at OC after this season. Return him back to his old job - nothing mean- strictly business.
We have tooooo much talent to lose to teams such as Morgan and Fam. Dumb play calling in second half and penalties killed us.
FIND A FG KICKER PLEASE. I just read an article last week on the internet where White and Hispanic kickers are making it Big as Field Goal kickers at HBCU schools.
Hint, Hint
We have had them before and they were projects at first and then began to bloom after a couple of years.
However, there are some out there that can produce from day one. I know there are Brothers out there also but we never seem to find them.

We have a backup kicker that can kick a fg so why is he not giving the chance to kick? He is getting better on kickoffs and had one to the endzone yesterday that was brought out but he can kick.

Like I said before it is time to change some players around and giving others the opportunity to step up and play We have the talent we just have to want to use it

I see you all are starting to agree with my offensive coordinator thoughts. Half of you was ready to slander me earlier in the season. We need to change the OC and recruit a legit kicker and Big OL.

I'm not happy with our offense at all. Unimaginative schemes. Dropped passes. Fumbles returned for TDs. These problems annoy me.......but we still could have won the game yesterday, despite all of those mistakes.
Here's what kills me.... 13 penalties, 131 yards
That's absolutely ridiculous and inexcusable. Do you realize how undisciplined and unfocused you have to be to amass 131 yards of penalties? I remember last year when folks were scared Central was gonna come to Greensboro and beat us. I was never worried. Why? Because Central woke up on every game day last year already having committed 100 yards of penalties. They were one of the most undisciplined teams I've seen in a while....
....fast forward to 2018........NCCU 2017 is now A&T 2018.
131 yards of penalties. Y'all do the math. That averages to 13 first downs FAMU gained or we lost due to stupidity. 2 of FAMU's best offensive plays yesterday were: 1) Pass interference A&T 2) Unsportsmanlike conduct A&T
It's the middle of October.....and we're making this many mistakes? This is inexcusable....

Well it's official...almost everybody on Blue Death knows the problems our team has...stupid penalties, poor play calling, lousy fieldgoal kicker, poor kicking game, bad tackling, and dropped passes.
Unfortunately we are not sure our coaching staff knows about these problems. What makes me unsure? These problems have existed all season and haven't been reduced or fixed. So either they don't know these problems exist or they don't know how to fix them. Either way, we're in trouble this season.

The bad thing about your statement 1969 is , Coaches can only go by what plays work in practice and what players performs better in practice against the scout team . If you don't see these mistakes and problems in practice you can't fix are work on them . A&T's problem is this BS only shows up in an actual game which is Vexing . With that being said I would change out a few players to see if it could spark a change in the players attitudes . A change has to be made with players on the field and it should start at the QB position . Washington needs to send a message to his so called play makers ( Make plays or sit) . I have never seen so many WR that can not get separation from the defender this makes a QB force his throws and we are right back to not using the TE as a weapon again . I also rewatched the game again and Rraynard miss wide open receivers down the seam come on now man did is playing like he is still a Fr . It is time for a change and it's not just with the OC but some players in important positions also !
